Fights where the movers are forced to come forward

Kalambay-Graham 1, both ways. Graham forced the fight initially but was a bit too untidy offensively to time Kalambay consistently and too careless defensively to avoid the counters. Tried then to fight on the move in quite a disciplined manner for him, but Kalambay came in effectively behind his jab and pressured Graham successfully I thought.

Pedroza vs Taylor, not that he did it effectively, he sort of sleepwalked through it but from a technical perspective had the height and footwork to fight effectively against movers, not to mention the mean streak and bolos to the body etc.

 

Pernell Whitaker against Hurtado. Oh OP already stated same. Well that's the first one I thought of

 

Ottke vs Mundane. He was losing that fight and was at the point where he needed a KO to win. I know Ottke takes a lot of grief for all of those close decisions in Germany but he against Mundane he bit down on the mouthpiece and knocked him out when he needed too.

Another one was when Oscar came out and won the 12th against the stronger more physical Ike Quartey. I still scored that fight for Ike by one point but Oscar forever gained my respect for how he came out in the 12th. He backed up a dude that never backed up.

 

To a degree, Muhammad Ali vs. Leon Spinks, 2nd fight.

 

Ali vs Joe Bugner, I think it was the 2nd one.

Joe far too defensive for the stick and move to work, Ali knew this as he prepped for the fight by focusing on heavy-bags to "improve his punching power." Of course that's bull**** pseudoscience but it shows you that he expected to be aggressive.

We actually saw something very rare from Muhammad in this fight; a body-attack.

 

Muhammad Ali vs Oscar Bonavena, Dec 7 1970, Madison Square Garden. Gil Clancy who handled Oscar, told him to force Ali to come to him. Ali won by TKO 15.

 

Mayweather - Judah​

Mayweather was getting outboxed on the outside by Judah for the first 4 rounds, so he was forced to make adjustments. He started coming forward & being the aggressor - walking him down while landing straight rights to the body to wear Judah & land straight rights & left hooks to Judah's head.

 

Although I think it’s a stretch to call Marvin Hagler “a defensive pure boxer”, he was first and foremost a methodical boxer/puncher with solid defense who had very good lateral movement and counterpunching. Against Tommy Hearns, he turned into a bull and executed that plan to perfection.

Muhammad was doing it quite often during his two fights with Joe Bugner. And,unlike the Young bout,looked quite good in doing so.
