I had Serrano winning rounds 5 and 6. 4th round could of gone either way. I had Taylor winning all the other rounds although some were close. Certainly the right winner, couldn't understand the judge who gave it to Serrano. Liam Smith was very impressive against Vargas. I'd back him to beat Charlo.
Those Matchroom Tinted Spectacles hard at work again - thought the fight was very close and it could easily be either winning by a round or even a draw. Pleased for Taylor and she may now get her fight with Connor Benn after he called her out.
5 pages for this historic mega fight. Good fight none the less (for the fans) and pitter patter Taylor got the points win for me.... although she looked much worse off afterwards
Starting? She got battered by a part time boxer/policewoman a few years ago. Take nothing away from Katie, what a career she's had as an amateur and a pro but she's not the Mayweather of female boxing or something she's made out to be. She's had plenty of close fights
Reflects the fight time in the middle of the night and the very few DAZN UK subscribers - great fight unfortunately out of sight, out of mind to the great British public. This thread would have had 100 pages had the fight been on Sky Sports or BT Sports.
Earn was going hard with the advertising on this one. BBC on the payroll with several articles on Taylor in the matter of days with sensationalist headlines; one of which was posted and its headline was revamped four times in the space of 24 hours. Didn't watch it and have zero desire to. Only women's boxing I will watch is when I am waiting for the main event.
On the other hand, the BBC treated this as an equal event to Fury-Whyte last weekend; same amount of coverage (possibly even more for the Taylor fight - if you count the educational "train like Serrano" videos and so on) so Eddie's cosy relationship with free broadcasting is clearly worth something. Given neither fighter is British it's a bit of a stretch to understand why the BBC would care that much.
This 100%. I had it for Taylor by a round but wouldn’t have argued with the draw or a Serrano SD. Quality fight. All in all, Taylor is a class act.
I take it back about having no interest in this, having just watched the highlights. Hats off to Taylor and Serrano, great fight. Still not sure about 2 minute rounds, the fight would have been totally different with 3 minute rounds. Wasn't David Diamante almost dead a month or two ago?
It was a great fight, how taylor got through the 5th is beyond me, she has certainly shown Joshua how to dig in and fight back when it is getting tough, not spit the gumshield out and basically quit... But yeah Diamante has made a miraculous recovery!!
Yes, it's unbelievable how well Diamante has recovered Diamante thinks the audience is coming to see and hear him.
