Yes, that is so much different from the past when it was such an honest sport and all about competition and not money.

De La Hoya has been knocked down by Campanella, Quartey, Valenzuela, and Whitaker in addition to the Hopkins fight.

I'm sure he was refering to down as in "down and out".

No way Pac who hits like a Welter Weight at best ko Oscar De La Hoya who took Vargas and Trinidad's best shots who hit like LHW.

I think it's a possibility that Pac can beat DLH but unlikely. DLH is past his prime and Pac has the quickness but DLH is still a very good boxer who will give Pac problems with his size, jab and power.

Pacquiao would be a huge underdog. He's too small and doesn't have the right style to make up for the significant size difference. DLH splatters him.

Oscar could quite possibly put a hurting on Pac in this matchup but I think Pac's pronounced speed/quickness/stamina advantage will give him a chance. Oscar will be coming in at 160 and Pac will probably be at the same weight he came in against Diaz. I'm telling you right now the relative speed/quickness difference will be the same as it was against Diaz maybe even more. In effect, Oscar will have a hard time landing anything clean. Fighting at the lower weights most of his career, Pac is used to faster quicker punches. He will see Oscar's punches coming as if they were in slow motion, and we al know about the adage that its the punches you dont see coming that hurts you...this could certainly hold true in this fight. This is Pac's best chance at winning...just go in and out, in and out and pepper Oscar with shots. If Pac does win it would probably lean towards a decision rather than Roach's ridiculous claim of a KO.

So to those who totally discount Pac's chances, dont be surprised if Pac pulls the impossible...I mean he's already done it a couple of times. You might as well give him the benefit of the doubt.

These statements are all intended to HYPED UP the planned fight. It is intended to stir up . . . interest especially the casual boxing fans. :D

But for the real boxing people, it's an illogical opinion. A 135 pounder will beat a 154 pounder? Especially a 154 pounder who's looking for a victory before he retires?

Nice try . . . but they can say that to the marines. :yep

You see? Among the thousands of ESB members, only 4 (including you and Pacdbest) are giving Pac a nice chance against Dela Hoya.

It is an intriguing match-up, but it is the only positive thing we can say about this fight, aside from that it is not only non-sense but ridiculous as well, if you ask a boxing fan who just like to see competitive fight.:blood

Doesn't work that way with the lower weights.

I read a lot of interesting news bits on this fight by various boxing writers (can't dig the names for now). They don't really see it as a close competitive fight but they are interested, intrigued on what will happen on this fight.
