Ok mate, we know that and it wasn’t right, but Saturday night was pretty special and fair play to her.
How many do you think that would do in prime time sky sports ppv? Maybe 250k? Something tells me a Irish/UK friendly time slot would be a dazn ppv fight
Not terrible numbers but hard to quantify revenue given different territories paying different level of subs.
I can't believe we're having this conversation. Women's boxing, fook me sideways with a telegraph pole.
'Yeah, but it isn't going away, so we should just submit to the propaganda and eat this **** up with a spoon. Which tattooed care worker you got in this weekend's titanic showdown, fellas?' Or, 'Have some decency, misogynist! It irrefutably benefits women to offer them hollow glorification within a distinctly male frame of reference, and the astroturf laydeebox revolution totally isn't a symbol of how far we're falling as a society!'
If the rematch went to open market the fight would get multiple big offers from various broadcasters to gain the rights.
People have been working on the idea of 250,000 subs on here, which would be roughly £24m a year. Given there aren't that many UK shows to fund with that money, and they pay for themselves at least in part from gate money and sponsors, you can see them turning a coin on that - or at the very least making a good dent in the costs. In accounting terms the UK business would also get a contribution from audiences in other countries for the boxing content, and most of the technical operating costs will be booked elsewhere in the group, so it seems rumours of DAZN's demise are greatly exaggerated. I think people on here forget that 1.5m is a decent number; in the US, major cable channels which come bundled with most subscriptions, would bite your hand off for 3-5m but most shows are way below that. Sky would kill for regular 1.5m audiences on any show.
As long as I watch a fight that I want to see, I really couldn’t care less about viewing figures or PPV loot. What’s the obsession with how well or badly something does? I can only think it’s an internal agenda against a fighter or promoter you don’t particularly like.
Even Frank Warren saying they are impressive viewing figures and he hopes the girls got paid accordingly.Hear hear to that they deserve every penny
Fella is so out of touch he wanted them to be paid the same as fury vs Whyte and had to be told it’s not Ppv the numpty. also gave away the Ppv buys for fury. I’ve heard the UK is circa 1.25m. He said it was more £ the AJ vs Wlad which was priced at £20. The fury whyte fight was £25 which makes the numbers about right. If the US buys are also accurate at circa 40-50k buys the only way Frank broke even on the show is if he did a deal with Tyson before the purse bid. Given he’s saying he didn’t lose money that sounds about right.
