Clenelos record isn't as impressive as fanboys think it is

Canelo is the perfect boxer to rig cards for. Moves forward, throws those oomph power punches, and when pushed back has flashy defense.

People who say Canelo won the 2nd fight are looking for excuses to give him the fight or were just manipulated by the fact that Canelo was on the front foot.

GGG landed more shots, GGG landed the harder shots.

 

I agree, mostly. Apart from GGG 8-4d Canelo twice. Lara got robbed blind. Trout was close, arguable either way, I gave it to Clen. This is not to mention his dodgy fights with Kovalev, Yildrim and the like. It's amazing how easily people can be fooled.. Especially into believing this guy is p4p no. 1 lmao.

I liken it to Mayweather's...the names are there, the fights are there, but people will always try to spin it that they fought their opponents either at the right time, or with some type of weight or catch weight advantage.
They are legitimate points, but it's also true that the numbers don't lie and they still beat all those opponents.
To be completely honest, I would have much preferred Canelo stuck around at middleweight, even if he didn't fight GG again, I think there were more exciting and entertaining fights for him there, especially against an opponent like Charlo or even Andrade would have really spiced things up.
I'm sorry but the Caleb's and Liam's and the Billy Joe's just don't do it for me. They were all cute wins, but none of those boys came to throw hands with Cenelo.
I am a bit intrigued by the Bivol fight, but only because Bivol has been so hyped that I'm interested to see what all the fuss is sbout

 

It's not just his "fans". He has the support and admiration of the wider boxing community, outside of a bunch of butthurt GGG fans who still can't get over what happened when they fought. Look at how popular he is, the reception he gets in Vegas in unparalleled. He always receives a hero's welcome from his passionate Mexican fanbase. He's a massive box office draw. Everytime he fights it's like the Super Bowl of boxing. This fight with Bivol is bigger than you realize. Movie theaters across America are showing the fight live.

You just wait till Saturday, you'll see all the big names, big celebrities come out in droves to see this guy fight. He's as big if not a bigger draw than Floyd Mayweather was at this point, and he has a better more fan friendly attitude than Mayweather who has turned into a very insecure little man. Canelo is carrying boxing on his shoulders and has been for years ever since that diva left the sport. So it's more than just a "masssive flux of deluded fans" lol.

Newsflash bud, he is universally recognized as P4P #1, not just by his fans but by all the boxing experts. You'd be inconsolable to not recognize him as P4P #1 at this point. There's nothing to be fooled about, he's by far the most fan friendly and entertaining fighter in decades. He level of technique and discipline is off the charts. And not only that, he has the right attitude, he has the drive and motivation to achieve greatness, to take on the biggest challenges and to deliver outstanding performances to the fans. What's not to like? What's not to appreciate?

I think you're jealous or envious of Canelo and have an deeply rooted emotional attachment to want so badly to see him lose because you can't stand seeing a fighter like Canelo come from notihing and make it big. It's sad, it's sad that you can't see or appreciate greatness when it's so clear that we're in the midst of witnessing one of the ATGs. But that's your loss. True boxing fans aren't emotionally charged fanboys who carry grudges against him because he's red haired or because he's not your typical cookie cutter fighter.

Canelo is a true inspiration to the young generation, his work ethic and dedication to the sport is obvious to anyone who has paid attention to his career, he has inspired so many young fighters to follow in his footsteps. It's difficult to comprehend how you can't see or appreciate what we are witnessing with Canelo.

We are on the verge of a dramatic and significant encounter with Bivol and this is a fight that we all should be excited about and looking forward to. You can't detract from a fight of this magnitude by airing your insecurities and conspiracies for the millionth time. If you're a boxing fan, we are 2 days away from a massive showdown, it's time to get hyped.

 

Seeing Canelo induced meltdowns on a daily basis around here just speak to Canelo's star power and level of achievement. We wouldn't see these dregs of humanity make such a stink about this guy if he wasn't achieving greatness and delivering on a consistent basis.

This is truly unlike anything we've ever seen in boxing. A modern day warrior like Canelo who has such a genuine enthusiasm and passion for boxing, for performing under the bright lights. I truly feel sorry for anyone who can't appreciate or respect what he has brought to boxing and what he continues to do bringing this sport to new heights. I'm so glad he left that sissy De La Hoya and aligned with Eddie Hearn. They work so well together and you can tell how happy Eddie is to be along for the ride. You can see the passion in Eddie Hearn's eyes when he talks about Canelo and what he continues to bring to the sport.
