But can you review that paraphrasing of Patterson's response to the loverboy? I cannot understand what he was saying, can you identify who is talking to who, maybe you mixed up a pronoun or two?

Hm, it was in an article I read not long ago. He was saying that he wasn't mad the guy a cable guy I think was interested in his wife it was that it was because he was white and white guys only wanna fool around with black girls and not marry them or something like that. Just Floyd being Floyd.

 

Unless he did it with Quarry too, I believe your thinking of an already battered Ellis as far Floyd rubbing the area where he had just landed a few body shots - as innocuous and half hearted as those shots were in the first instance.

Floyd arguably won that fight. Now I think of it, maybe Floyd had points deducted for effective empathy.

 

Yeah that's the one. It was Ellis. What an odd thing to do, you know he used to avoid eye contact because he was afraid they would smile at him and it'd be hard to hit someone he'd seen smile? The greatest role model in boxing.

Yeah, and to do such a thing in a competitive fight with so much on the line - Floyd was just as unique as Ali but in many positive ways.

Don’t know if would’ve made a difference - but interesting if Floyd had the killer instinct of someone like, say, the no holds barred Dempsey transplanted into him….but then he’d be no longer Floyd, would he?

If it’d been Floyd inToledo, he’d be trying to lift Big Jess off the canvas after the first crushing KD - old school ref Ollie Pecord would’ve DQ’d Patterson on the spot. Ha!

If Michael gets ornery and starts talking about whipping out the Jinx, I’ll tell him the beer was for Mike Tyson with whom I’m sitting and chatting with at another table.

I’ll say Tyson would be fine with my accidentally spilling his beer - but he wouldn’t be fine with anyone beating me up and further delaying me from buying Iron Mike a fresh brew.

I’ll add that Mike would be peed even if it only took an extra 91 seconds to rectify the blunder. “Did you get that Spinksy….91 seconds….are we on the same page now?”

Michael will then simply nod and begrudgingly say “on your way”.

Marciano definitely had his share of street fights and bar fights despite the nice television demeanor. But if you offered to buy his cheap ass two drinks he would prob let u slide.
Also saw someone said Lewis…I’ll pass on that one. Thought he was gonna kill a drunk guy who wanted his picture once. Can’t imagine spilling a beer on him.
I’d have to go with Patterson because he was gentlemen and would understand it was an accident.
