Bivol landed the harder punches and hurt Canelo several times. Canelo does not back away unless he gets hurt. Did Bivol try to ko him? No. But Bivol landed plenty of legitimately hard punches. Bivol landed more volume + harder punches.

 

Bivol hardly a mark on him aside from the arm - great defence, and tremendously disciplined gameplan

 

He'll get the decision in the rematch, apparently he only needed 1 more round for a draw

Canelo is probably kicking himself for dropping the middle rounds. If he was more active the judges would have given it to him.
