Bivol was great defensively tonight, that was the real difference IMO.

It was the same as the Smith fight, but the heavy punches to the arm discouraged Smith - while Bivol just waited for Canelo to stop throwing to get his own punches in.

Honestly I think he should avoid the rematch and move on and fight a guy like Charlo or andrade who I think he'd Crush

I thought I'd enjoy a Canelo loss more than this. It was all very routine. I don't even think Bivol was in top gear. This has to be a bit of a reality check for Canelo.

This is too much though Pimp.

You seriously think that Canelo hasn't improved in 9 years of professional fighting?

He didn't improve because he lost in a weight class he shouldn't be at against a potentially elite fighter in his prime with a styles advantage to top it off?

Idk... the notion that a disciplined fighter like Canelo hasn't improved since he's been 23 years old, after 9 years of professional training camps and 143 more rounds as a professional fighter.... all because he lost to potentially the best light heavyweight on the planet... idk man, not sure that's a realistic take.

175 is too much. Too much weight on that frame.

The intelligence to attack as soon as Canelo finished his punches, Bivol had the discipline to repeatedly take advantage of that. High ring IQ

Tbh, I was worried the fix would be in for Canelo (like it was for Kovalev). And it almost was -- how the hell do the judges score 115-113? Nobody else saw 115-113; it was 10-2 at best for Canelo.

And people still think that he beat Kovalev without a fix.

Don't you think it was an enjoyable, entertaining fight? If so, why wouldn't you want to see it again.
