Yeah I can see that argument. But he has one elite win in Gvozdyk, I feel like cruiserweight is that division where all the top dudes just fight each other. He could have moved up and fought the likes of Briedis and Dorticos, etc and tried to go undisputed there.

Yes he is a little bit bigger, but remember Canelo is consensus p4p #1. So he's the 2nd coming of RJJ and Pacquiao.

He is if you believe RJJ and Pac were the only p4p #1s that ever existed. That statement make no sense.

Golovkin must have been a fake p4p #1 because he never fought let alone won any fights at 1698 or 175

Beterviev hasn't ducked anyone so pointless implying he has.. he's had both injury & managerial/contractual issues for years .. He's also beat Gvozdyk & probably Joe Smith soon.. so hardly a ducker..

    Canelo was not "exposed."

That would imply he was not great before his Saturday evening loss.

Losing to the best of second best LHW on the planet, when he was three weight classes above the point where he won his first titles, does not constitute being exposed.

Other than dodgy decisions against GGG, his resume speaks for itself in three lower weight classes.

He is still the undisputed, four-belt SMW champion, and a top five p4p .

I think "exposed" is a bit of overblown rhetoric here.

Oh yeah so why did he fight the nail but not bivol?Theyre in the same weight class, both champions and still no fight between them. Bivol would gladly take the fight if Beterbiev wanted it.

TBH I think Usyk and Fury better. Bivol and Beterbiev better. Estrada, Gonzalez, Inoue, Rungvisai better. Crawford and Loma better. I'm just saying.

    The criticism = fair.
People defend Canelo say how much he dared and risk, he fought the best at light heavy, yes ok fine, but Bivol was 4-1 or 5-1 underdog. so how can you argue now & say Canelo was not overrated?? The odds proved him overrated. Canelo = very good fighter and worthwhile champion ... but not superfighter as was said by the hype. That is just fact of this matter. Very good fighter. & also very overrated towards super greatness that is not reality of his ability.

    Fury ?

He's my current favourite fighter at any weight, but p4p better than Canelo ?

    Get your head examined.

Usyk is better p4p, and was before Saturday night.

    Beterbiev ?

    p4p ?

    GTFOutta here.

    Based on what ?

Yes, Canelo received a one-sided beatdown from a great LHW.

That hardly negates his record of the past few years at the lower weights.

He choose Bivol for the sole reason he thought he could walk through him or do enough to outpoint him. Underestimated him. Canelo obviously avoided Beterbiev, fortunately for him he did overwise we would have seen him stretched out on the canvas. Nobody is invincible.

Bro he even stated before a few years back that only watched boxing on youtube videos, he never watched live fights or even kept up on news and what was going on in the world of boxing.
    Beterbiev better p4p?

    He did not avoid Beterbiev.

The plan was for the winner of Bivol-Canelo to face the winner of Smith-Beterbiev.

If Canelo had prevailed against Bivol, and Beterbiev beats Smith, Beterbiev-Canelo was next.

It is probably fortunate for Canelo that Bivol beat him the way he did.

I expect Beterbiev would have laid an even worse beating on the Mexican...maybe a career-ending thumping.

None of that implies that Canelo got "exposed."

Was Bob Foster exposed when he lost to Ali and Frazier ?

His best "win" is an old, over the hill GGG in a robbery. After the Bivol fight I'm done with the whole Canelo is greater than JMM/MAB/Morales. Done with that bull****.

Good points. Beterbiev would have beat him up. However where did i say that Canelo was exposed?
