I think similar things happened to Gabe Ruelas & Ray Mancini. I remember hearing how Ruelas lost some of his passion for the sport after the Jimmy Garcia tragedy.

Max Baer financially helped out the family of the boxer that died in their fight.

Yeah, that one was something. To go back in time to the late 80s, and imagine someday watching THAT, I mean, nobody would ever think it.

The episode where Tyson gets Leonard and Hearns to rewatch their fights together and talk **** to each other, while he's getting high and egging them on, is pretty humorous.

The episode with William Shatner is.. something. Shatner is 91 years old, but has the mental alacrity of a 20 year old hopped up on energy drinks, and promptly takes over control of the podcast and interviews Tyson instead of the other way around. He doesn't let up or go easy either. Definitely one of my favorite episodes, even if it doesn't really talk about boxing much.

Side note, Shatner needs to permit his DNA to be sequenced and studied. His complete lack of mental degradation due to age is beyond exceptional. If you didn't see the old man the voice is coming from, you'd think you were listening to a recording of him as a young man, possibly after having snorted a line of coke.
