If Canelo at 175 can bruise Bivol's shoulder then Beterbiev will tear that mutha****a clean off. Technically that isnt a scoring shot. But it HURTS. It's not like a headshot that disorients you more than anything. The shots that Canelo landed on Bivols guard will put Bivol in agony if landed by Beterbiev. And eventually force him to quit. We saw what happened with Gvozdyk. He wasnt close to KO'ing Gvozdyk but it just got to the point where the physical abuse became too much for him mentally and he decided he had enough. Bivols only chance is to stick and move for 12 rounds.
Beterbiev is certainly rubbing his rock hard paws together at the thought of putting them on Steronelo.
Bivol could get a decision against Beterbiev but he'd pay a far heavier price than he did against Canelo if he won. I doubt Canelo could survive Beterbiev at all.
I definitely think Bivol could win a decision against Beterbiev, but he may have to physically bite down on the mouthpiece and gut it out. He cant quit like Gvozdyk did. You just have to fight through the punishment.
Gvozdyk hits harder than Bivol in my opinion, unless Beterbiev grows old overnight Bivol will lose but will probably last the distance though
Beterbiev doesn't play this game dirty as opposed to Canelo. I don't think he will target his shoulder.
Bivol and Beterbiev will not fight each other. The reason is the clash between two Russians does not has impact on the American market. No promoter will set up this fight when American people don't care about it.
That's a good point. In this political climate I think a battle for Undisputed between 2 Russians is a hard sell to market. Maybe if/when the Russia Ukraine war is over but a Russian vs Russian Unification is just not a fight that can really be marketed or be lucrative at least not in the current climate. Besides 2 Russians fighting each other would also be awkward anyway even if there wasn't a war going on right now. It's a very unusual situation.
Anything can be sold to the masses if it is market correctly. Remember, Canelo did not even speak English a few years ago but was still a $20m fighter headlining PPVs. Golovkin is Russian speaking and he sold well and is still marketable. Beterbiev is seen as the boxing version of Khabib and Bivol just upset the world's best fighter comfortably. The demand is there, it just has to be marketed correctly to be monetised to the maximum.
