Are people being overly harsh on Canelo since his loss to Bivol?

Some people here are comparing Canelo to Usyk?? Really??

One guy goes into the lions den against all odds with out any special treatment and wins..

The other tries his best to stack the card in his favour before taking on a challenge. He won't take that challenge if he doesn't think he can win via a stacked deck..

    It insulting to Usyk...

Of course , Every man has his haters / detractors.that will be there to smile in your face when you are down.

It’s what you do & how you get up that determines your heart & merit as a man.

let them hate if he real he will use it as fuel.

Who doesn't realize that boxing is corrupt? Has been for decades and no one is denying that.
I actually have a soft spot for Juan Francisco Estrada, he's one of my favorite fighters to watch and think that he does indeed have a case of being considered one of the best Mexican fighters currently. However, what Canelo has done in his career is still remarkable. First ever undisputed 168 champ and the first Mexican to unify since Ruben Olivares, that's quite an achievement. He's the bigger attraction and superstar at the end of the day and his P4P label was warranted.

I'm really not the biggest Canelo fan and still to this day feel that he ripped off GGG, but I'm not gonna continuously hold that against him. His talents and what he was able to do after a tough loss to Mayweather has to be appreciated. You can hate Canelo all you want but when the dust settles people will still respect Canelo as a great fighter.

Estrada has legit victories over Gonzalez and Rungvisai. No true boxing fan who understands the sport would even think Canelo deserves to bring his spitbucket to the ring.

Estrada, like Canelo, arguably lost to Chocolatito twice. But yes he does have wins over Chocolatito and SSR that makes his resume compelling. Great fighter and I do prefer him over Canelo personally.

Yea and when Canelo stepped up to that caliber of opposition (he has twice) he was tactically schooled once and then beat down violently in the other.

I heard it all - hey do you think Canelo could beat Michael Spinks ? How about Hagler?

And then I'm like why are people saying this? Based off what?
Then the Canelo fanboys would say how he "destroyed" a lightheavy in the Krusher and how he "beat up " GGG in the rematch and I myself was left shaking my head.
Truth of the matter is Canelo has a weak resume when compared to legends in the sport.
Mayweather boxed his ears off. Lara he escaped with a split decision. He did so bad on GGG 1 all they could manage was to give him a draw.
Every elite fighter he's faced he's arguably LOST to.

Something I do notice with Estrada, unlike Canelo, is he fights with a sense of urgency and he steps up the gas in the championship rounds. It helps that he has a better gas tank. Canelo just doesn't show that much urgency against Bivol, perhaps hoping that his judges would help him out with the results. Estrada also shows that he can adapt in fights as well.

This happens when he steals victories he dont deserve. On top of that, the judging corruption was on full display for the world to see. There is a cost to pay for this corruption, people aren't blind. I think it would be different if Canelo lost the fights he should have lost. The man still hasn't admitted he lost to Bivol. He is a diva. I have no sympathy for him or his fans.

When a hypejob like Canelo gets dominated by a guy most people expected him to knock out, it’s only natural for the pendulum to swing in the opposite direction. Canelo was chirping about fighting Usyk next and many of the Canelo cucks on this site seemed to think he could beat Usyk. The hysteria surrounding Canelo was getting crazy and it’s good to see someone pop the balloon. Boxing owes Bivol a great thanks for putting a lid on the madness and forcing Canelo to get the hell out of 168 and to stop the Usyk chirping. Thanks Bivol!

I agree with you that fighters don't judge fights. But you're simplifying the things saying fighters are little babies and don't have any power to call the shots.
Such superstars as Canelo have tons of power. They can force type of gloves upon the opponent, pick jusges, ring zise etc.
It was ridiculous to say Canelo was 'born ready' and wanted The GGG fight instead of fighting the likes of Khan or an undead Chavez Jr. But nope. At the position he already was, no Oscar could prevent Canelo fighting Golovkin instead of those unnecessary fights.
And yes, judges are also in power of Canelo
