    Beat Jimmy Carter for the World lightweight title, then defended against Carter in the rematch. Then would go on to lose his next 11 fights and never win again. Retired 31-24-6. 18 KOs

    Carter was a 3 time World Lightweight Champion and Smith never did anything else of note in boxing (he did beat contender Orlando Zuleta prior to Carter but that's about it). That's as close as I can think of to what OP is asking if I'm reading it right
