Had Saul Canelo Alvarez had fought Artur Beterbiev instead of Dmitry Bivol, who would have won? Let's suppose that Alvarez had fought Beterbiev on May 7 2022 instead of Bivol, who would have won and why?

I think he might have been KO’d by Beterbiev. That’s not to take anything away from Bivol, who was masterful and took 11 rounds on my card, but he’s a more destructive fighter and he’d have worn Canelo down.

I pick Bivol to edge Beterbiev on points though.

beterbiev knocks him TF out. Canelo's gas tank is too suspect to be otherwise. You can run out of juice vs bivol and maybe survive but beterbiev will tattoo him with those short powerpunches and bust him up. might be competitive to round 4

A much closer fight as Berbitiev is much easier to hit than Bivol.

I believe Beterbiev hits harder than anobody else at LHW.

If Beterbiev hits Canelo like Bivol did, he will go down.

Beterbiev would have beaten him down

Eddy Reynoso would have thrown in the towel

Canelo was backing up as early as round 3 when Bivol started pushing him back and landing combos to head and body.

As soon as Beterbiev finds his range Canelo would have been on his bike. Those combos don't work going backwards.

Spot on, I think Bivol beats Beterbiev on points but there is no way Canelo lasts all 12, he'd be fine for 6-7 rounds but he'd start gassing out and Beterbiev would tko him rd 10 or 11

Beterbiev, even this on the slide version puts the hurt on Canelo.
He would definitely be behind on the scorecards when he takes him out though, probably not entirely in line with the fight.

He would of stopped Beterbiev in the late rounds.

Canelo scorecards are never in line with the fight.

Very few fighters are moving up in weight to beat a bigger outboxer. Beterbiev is an entirely different fight for Canelo. Canelo is slick like oil, Bivol barely managed anything of consequence, as is Bivol highly defensively sound. Beterbiev is neither. He’s just a big target.

Beterbiev is too big and strong and he would've punched holes in him and knocked him out. He has a KO 100% against natural LHWs and huge LHWs and is supernaturally strong and hard hitting for 175 not 168 or 160.

And he's not just ridiculously physically strong and powerful, but he also has a crazy engine. Let Clen try and walk him down and see what happens to him. He's never felt power like that before in his life.

Kovalev was washed, threw pitty pats all night, doesn't possess the kind of physical strength Beterbiev does, and he has a six round tank. Whereas, conversely, Beterbiev is a strong as a grizzly bear, doesn't know what a pitty pat is, has a twelve round tank, and he can maintain that pressure and work rate and throw bombs from first bell to last.

Bivol hits harder than many think but the differebce between his power and Beterbiev's is night and day

    Thompson fought a prime Kovalev.

That version of Kovalev he fought was an absolute monster

Everyone and their mother will pick Arthur but I will say that Arthur does not fight like Dimitri at all. AB is much easier to hit and I don't think his chin is as good as Bivol. It would definitely be the fight of the year No Doubt but I lean towards Arthur because I don't think cinnamon can take those kind of punches.
