    What a surprise :)

Ben Whittaker, Olympic silver medallist, signs long-term promotional agreement with Boxxer / Sky Sports.

heard it’s a 2 year 10 fight deal with an option on year three that both sides must agree.

£100k a fight. Which is mega money given he will only be fighting for British title come the end of that deal.

All 258 fighters will eventually join Sky Sports then I guess since Whittaker is signed to 258 Management.

Massive loss for Hearn and Matchroom to be honest.

    Eddie won't be happy .
    Will he go far ?
Bit unlikeable right now but might be just me.
Shades of fowler with his personality

There's literally been no buzz for Olympians in recent times. Why wait a year to decide. Lose all momentum to engage the crossover audience straight away. The numbers across social media illustrates nobody actually cares about the best fighter the GB squad.

Good luck to Ben but Boxxer has paid through the nose there.

His lack of effort in the last round of the final coupled with his petulance at receiving a medal makes me think this guy will be a bust.

I think he'll do well. He's talented and still young and he'll be given everything on a plate.. best trainers, fights at the right time, sky platform, sponsorship deals etc

I'm expecting big things from him, Pat Mccormack amd Peter Mcgrail. I think those are the three stand outs from the mens team. The others are turning pro too late or not good enough imo.

Maybe it's Matchroom / Eddie Hearn's tactic to wait and then sign him after 10 - 12 fights on Sky Sports ? :)

100k a fight equals what Audley Harrison was on with the BBC back in the day.

You don’t medal at an Olympic tournament without talent however I didn’t take to him from what I saw and heard. If Sugar Hill is training him he will have to toe the line and who knows how far he might go ?
