Not an ATG whose best years were far behind them but an ATG who was still in good form. My vote is for Liston-Patterson I.
Nah, Patterson ain’t no all time great. Historically he’s right up there as the youngest heavyweight champ in history at the time and also the first guy to win back the title but as a fighter he ain’t an all time great . The answer to the question gotta be Duran being knocked out cold, face down on the canvas by Hitman Hearns.
Easily Douglas over Tyson. 42-1 underdog brutally knocking out a prime, undefeated, monster who had unified the titles and was effortlessly finishing off contenders in a couple rounds.
Doesn't get much worse than Frazier-Foreman 1. It wasn't some unexpected brilliant performance over many rounds, like Douglas pulled off against Tyson; it was utter destruction. Foreman made Frazier look like some worthless tomato can. That's MY bike, punk!
He took down glass jawed Carl Williams with one shot but didn’t look that good in taking five rounds to beat british bum Bruno.
Excellent responses. Not to derail the thread, but about Harold Johnson - is it me, or did he always display near perfect form, even in the KO loss posted earlier? He always looked like a model for a boxing instruction book or something lol. He and Joe Louis going at it would be amazing to watch, picture perfect boxing!
I think you should put a little more respect on Patterson's name. He is a hall of famer and in my opinion an ATG.
