What? He will be getting Hughes the biggest payday of his career to set him up for life after boxing.
Set him up for life? Ok mate, let’s see what happens if that fight ever happens. Brutal knockout which I hope he would recover from. Idiots like you don’t understand boxing. It would be similar to Loma Crolla which ended with a nasty face plant ko.
Just read this back, apologies shouldn’t have called you an idiot and I know the majority of us on here understands boxing. Personally I think some fights aren’t worth taking just for the money, like this one.
Crolla is fine and banked $300,000 for that fight. Whilst not life-changing money on its own, the top-up over and above his other headline fights was a good way to bow out... the more embarrassing thing for him was his 'farewell' fight which he lost by a mile but somehow got a majority decision...
"Anthony, how would you like to share the ring with Lomachenko, who is looking like he's going to be a future hall of famer, 300k, what do you say?" "Some people on a forum don't think I'm good enough and some think that I might get brain damage. I got hit in the head with a paving slab before and recovered but this, this might be too much. I know it's an amazing opportunity and the kind of thing most boxers dream about but I'm going to have to say thanks but no thanks"
I don't think you, given what you've posted, get to make sweeping assumptions and then dictate whether I or anyone else can respond. Yes, I have boxed actually but that bares no relation to what I posted.
Wasn’t talking about whether anyone else could respond, just you mate. We have a difference of opinion on this and my stance is that I have been in enough changing rooms post fights to see the ramifications a mission impossible match up can have.
It seems you're the one who doesn't understand boxing. True fighters want to fight the best. Most don't get involved in boxing for the money. Hughes would love to get in the ring and fight Garcia I'm sure of it, plus he will get a tasty sum of money for it. Just like Corolla, he can at least said he stepped up and fought one of the best in the game. Takes a lot of bollocks to do that.
Don’t just look at his losses though, he’s nothing like he was in his last loss, he’s 100x better all round, he’s one of the biggest turnarounds I’ve ever seen in a boxing career
