Hunter lost by multiple rounds against Forrest but robbed him of a sound victory. I’m looking forward to Cysts of Fury beating him in a snoozer.
It doesn’t really work like that though, does it. Hunter was beaten and hurt multiple times by Forrest - who’s not exactly what you’d consider Povetkin level. Look for a highlights video, I bet you can’t find one. Triller deleted my video 3x from YouTube because Hunter looked awful.
No, it doesn't work like that. But styles make fights, and clearly Hunter has huge issues with southpaws. Usyk is a southpaw, as is Forrest. Also, let's not act like Forrest hasn't dramatically improved. He finished the far stronger of the two when he fought Takam and was robbed of a rightful victory over a behemoth like Zhilei Zhang, and was damn close to stopping him. Clearly Mike didn't take him seriously, like you and everyone else has lately. Hopefully that perception of Forrest changes after he KO's Kubrat Pulev this weekend. Regardless, struggling against a stylistic threat, in a match he didn't properly prepare for isn't any kind of indication of his level when facing someone like Hughie Fury. Who fights nothing like Forrest. Hunter will be back to looking his best, and maul Fury, just like he's mauled every at Heavyweight not named Jerry Forrest. Let's not forget, Hughie has looked poor and incredible beatable far more often than Michael.
Absolutely @CST80 , but I do have more asterisk's over Hunter than ‘poor prep’ and underestimating Forrest. He knew what he was in for with Forrest, it’s not like he was a new opponent. Yes, credit due for Forrest improving in the last 3 years, he’s one of those fighters who looks much worse on paper than what he is. Hunter struggled to hurt Forrest, was as slow as molasses and gassed quickly. He was out on his feet near the end of the fight. From memory it was a 10 rounder too? It’s also worth noting that Hunter said it was the best camp of his career and he was ready to put himself at the top of the division with his performance - which never eventuated. Sure, people bloat their ego preflight with all that chat, but you can’t discredit the performance from being under prepared, and also claim the best camp of your career… Personally, I think Hunter is done. The Povetkin fight took it out of him and the Forrest fight showed what he had left. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s my take I’ll edit the highlights and get it back on YouTube!
Hunters career at hw considering his really a cw is great most people thought he beat povetkin and I didn't see the Forrest fight but every fighter has a tough nighr hear and there or Forrest is that good only seen him fight the Chinese fighter on the Saunders vs Canelo undercard his not terrible if Hunter is not shot I think he beats fury with ease
Hughie was very young in heavyweight terms when he fought Parker,Povetkin,Pulev etc. One thing for sure is that he is hard to knock out. If he has matured and developed since those fights then he could win this one, especially if Hunter from the last fight turns up. Hunter was a real dark horse in this division before somehow losing his way. Now he’s a cherry pick. Something just doesn’t seem right
I think Hunter actually can be very good, but I scored both of his draws against him. I think he needs to be in the gym more working on his cardio, because he's pretty much always winning or holding his own in the early rounds and loses the late rounds. If he works harder, he'll be in a title fight in no time. I kind of feel like Hughie will win, or at the very least will win the last three rounds to get a tight 113-115 type loss. My official prediction is 116-112 Hughie, with ranges all the way from 116-112 Hughie to 115-113 Hunter.
Hugie Fury has no skills at all even for a HW. If Hunters shows up in shape he should beat the living crap out of that guy.
If Hunter comes at his best he can edge a victory on points with activity outworking Hughie It's a bad style for Hughie really, I think this is bad matchmaking from Hughie management
