If you wanted a life long friend, what all time great fighter would you want? Would you want maybe a Floyd Patterson or a Marvelous Marvin Hagler to be there for you or just to hang out with?

Manny, teach me the gospel and how to box. Plus I could rock all my Filipino gear without looking like an alien lol with my jerseys, necklaces, only fitting for a fight night in Las Vegas lol. Plus I could finally ask buboy wtf he's talking about in between rounds lol. Not to mention meet the boxing master Freddie Roach!

ATG boxer and human being. A real gentleman. Did you ever watch the version of Huckleberry Finn where he plays Jim? He did well.

Nice. What role did he play? Was he in it long? I know that Arguello was on a crime show I forget the name of, Miami Vice I think.

He was a banker and he's only in there for about 5 minutes. I didn't know that fact about Arguello. Thanks for sharing.

I think Emile Griffith would be a kind soul to know. Arguello before his troubled retirement was a gent.

I couldn't pick a friend like that or it would not be real.. They have their good friends and I have mine. Friends are more instinctive. But I see what you mean, some guys look better than others. We really don't know any of the fighters personally we think we know. Knowing someone well takes a lot more than seeing them on TV.

I love Hagler, but he'd be the type of friend who kept reminding you for years about the time at the bar he bought more rounds than you and how the world at large owed him for it.

For a person who have been sh_tting pretty much the whole time a topic Cleveland Williams came up, I have to admit this is quite a surprise.

The Old Mongoose is actually a great pick.

Otherwise, for sh*ts and giggles, Max Baer is a good choice.

For a no nonsense, uniformly held guy - Joe Frazier fits the bill, a nice bloke and what you see would be what you get. Actually, just struck me, Ken Norton also for much the same reasons - though he prob doesn’t quite fit the requirement of being an ATG.

Post drinking John L would’ve been interesting to hang out and talk with also.

    and so was Roberto Duran:

Also, Don King, Tex Cobb and Mark Breland. Miami Vice - p4p the best TV show of the 80s.
