Bivol needs to fight Beterbiev. 5 years and counting is beyond ridiculous. Or at least fight Ramirez.

Bivol-Beterbiev is what I'd rather see.

What makes you think that Bivol is just gonna hand over his belt to the guy he just outclassed?

Brilliant. He should focus on Beterbiev vs Smith.

He's the a side against Canelo now. Alvarez has to dance to his tune if he wants that rematch.

Bivol is simply posturing for the best possible terms for the Canelo rematch.

Clenelo doesn't deserve a rematch. He got baptized in his own church in front of his own congregation by pastor Dmitry aka Bivol The Baptist. If Clen wants to be re-baptized he needs to agree to travel to The Church of Dmitry for it.

Bivol is the champion and he calls the shots now. The fight wasn't remotely close. He controlled the fight and Clenelo. Even though it was his first fight on a stage even close to that magnitude and he fought Clen on his turf, in front of his people, on a deck which couldn't have been more stacked against him, at no point whatsoever did he look remotely ruffled, uncomfortable or like he wasn't in charge. He was the boss in there and it was basically a leisurely stroll in the park for him and he had a lot more left to show and give, whereas, conversely, Clen looked intimidated, frustrated, like a lost child, and completely bereft of ideas, and he'd been huffing and puffing like a giant asthmatic ginger toad for a long time.

Since when is a fight only properly resolved in a rematch? There was a fight, one boxer comprehensively won. The end.

If Bivol wants a rematch that's his call. If he doesn't, he's still the winner without dispute or controversy, or anything to prove. It's a 12-round fight, not 24 with half time...

You don't need to go down to 168, you don't owe Canelo anything, he challenged you and he lost...

Bivol is 31 years old and it appears he isn’t interested in getting potentially drained to make 168. Losing weight to fight at a lower division is rarely a good idea unless a guy is overweight and has weight to spare. Bivol probably doesn’t have access to those magic Mexican steaks Canelo likes so much. Also, it’s hard enough beating a skilled fighter like Canelo (even though he made it look easy in the first fight) you have to beat the corrupt judges who give Canelo rounds he clearly lost. Doing that at a lower weight, especially at 31 years of age, is not worth it unless the money is more than you can turn down.

He hasn’t even gotten the money from the first fight yet because of sanctions. I hope they gets addressed soon because he earned it and probably deserved much more. It’s sad to see the guy who destroyed the PFP face of boxing get stiffed on the purse.

Canelo can get the rematch at 175 and it will be another easy payday for Bivol even with the corrupt judges. He can give Canelo another boxing lesson and dominate the inferior boxer for 12 rounds again. Canelo fans will cry “he’s too small” again and I doubt the fight will do much for Bivol’s reputation. If you think the judges were blind in the first fight, get ready for a new level of corruption in the second. Ref taking points for minor offenses, judges scoring even more rounds in Canelo’s favor regardless of how badly he gets outlanded and outboxed. The deck will be stacked even more in Canelo’s favor but I think Bivol’s skills are superior enough to give him an easy victory (probably split decision after winning 11-1).

Canelo fans are hilarious. After the Kov fight, Canelo was touted as a legit LH. They showed film clips of him sparring with HWs and started chirping about him fighting Usyk. After he was thoroughly dismantled by a superior boxer, he was suddenly too small. The ultimate weight bully who has enjoyed a weight advantage in most of his fights was suddenly too small when a small LH outboxed him. Get ready for that to happen again if these two meet.
