So throwing combos trumps skills accomplishments and resume when considering if a boxer is an atg??? Lmfao! That's one of the dumbest things I've heard on this forum and that speaks volumes.
This is a mainly an unpopular opinion on this forum; Gervonta Davis is very underrated by most boxing fans. He doesn't quite have the résumé to back it up yet but he has generational talent. After he dog-walks Rolly and he's free from Floyd's overprotective, safety-first matchmaking, I hope to see him in better fights against champions, because I believe he can beat anyone from 130 to 140. Tank KOs both Haney and Kambosos. Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez and Conor McGregor disagree on most things, but the one thing that they all share the same opinion on is their love for Gervonta Davis. You seriously think ring iq counter punching accuracy footwork defense a jab timing are less important? Combo punching is overrated and is only really useful against overrmatched opponents. How many times did you see pbf get hit by combos? Pbf was extremely effective without being a great combo puncher.
Ok what about his body of work his skills and accomplishments? I guess that doesn't matter?? Just combo punching right?
He is, but he's on the slide now, Gervonta is on the up. That fight probably never happens, but if it does, it would be well into 2023/24 or later, in which Loma would be past his prime and Gervonta nearing his. At which point I would favour Gervonta to KO him.
Jack Reiss stopped the Abner Mares Jhonny Gonzalez fight to early and gave a dumb reason. He said that he could see Mares eyes and that he was done. At the time that he jumped on Mares to stop the fight, Mares head was facing down as he was getting up. Mares was fully aware of what was going on and surprised that it was stopped.
