Correct. They would have immediately turned on Whyte labeling him a weak chinned fraud and would have accused wilder of being happy to have a draw with fury and avoiding a rematch. Just look at how Ortiz went from Boogeyman who Wilder wouldn't dare fight, to all the memes about him being 75 years old. I suspect if the ref stopped the first Fury fight they would have turned on Fury as well saying he was an obese alcoholic with only 1 good win over a shot old Wladmir. Nothing he did would have been good enough.
Bivol was ****ing nobody and none of you were talking about him. Don't lie. Only the most hardcore boxing fans knew who the hell he was or who was on his resume. Wladmir Klitschko+Chisora was more than enough to prove Fury was better than Bivol. He is also far more well rounded than Bivol, he can box, slug, and go southpaw. Bivol is pretty 1 dimensional, although he is superb at that one dimension.
It's true that Wilder has more courage than Canelo. Wilder did pick a depleted Fury the first time, so we can't really give him that. And the second time he was sure he was going to KO Fury after the two KD's. But when Fury smashed him in the second fight, Wilder did want the fight again and got KO'd for his trouble. I do think Wilder roided for the 2nd and 3rd fight, as his lean mass gain was highly suspect, but anyway. Let's contrast that with Canelo. Canelo rematched Golovkin after a robbery draw and narrowly won on points even with all the judging bias. Then he took his ball and ran home because he was scared of losing the trilogy fight, which was the biggest fight in boxing at the time.
Was just playing on words. Because ring IQ and IQ, and Deontay is dumb as a dumbbell and all. I'll do better next time.
Wilder was inferior in a lot of things: footwork, head movement, variety in punches, etc. Canelo by comparison to Wilder might as well be Sugar ray Leonard. But Wilder worked on those things to try and beat the #1 HW and become #1 in the most prestigious division. He failed because he just didn't have the tools and it takes some brass bollocks to go into a fight with someone who brutally beat you down with ease, just to try and prove you are #1.
Who YOU perceive as less threatening. There were a bunch of us saying that Bivol was the biggest threat outside the hw division. Utter bollocks. Just delusional. Your whole big spiel is just bull**** piled upon incompetent spin. Why are you still trying to big up Wilder? He's done. He got the girl and the money. let him ride off into the sunset. Considering his pedigree, he accomplished alot. Plenty to be proud of. Even if in the end he alienated two thirds of his paying audience through stupid woke virtue signalling. Hey. He's a boxer. Not an engineer or a doctor. Outside of his craft, he's easily led. He ain't the first. Wasn't the last. Props to Saul Alvarez who fell a hair short in his reach for greatness.
No, I mean specifically in mid-late 2018. And if you thought Bivol was a nobody prior to Canelo, then you were the casual. Bivol is a better fighter than Fury ever has been.
