If Super Boots cracks Errol with one of his bombs he will spit his mouthpiece into the stratosphere This content is protected
Crawford was getting beat by 34 yo part time commentator Porter whose Dad threw the towel in for no reason. Crawford was dropped by Kavaliauskas. Crawford is even big for 147. Jaron Ennis is very big for 147. Might actually be a fair match up if Crawford fights Ennis. Ennis has a very good chance at beating Crawford (and Spence for that matter)
That's what I thought while watching this fight, while I thought Clayton might have froze a little bit he had nothing for boots and was overwhelmed. He certainly looks great, if he does get the winner of Spence Crawford I like him to take Spence , Crawford? he'd be 35 when the fight took place and that's not a great age to be taking on someone as young and fast as Ennis but as you say , he hasn't proven anything at that level as yet
I believe Boots is the future, I said this multiple times. At this point he doesn't beat Spence or Crawford (although I'd give him a small window against Crawford). Neither of them are gonna let him run over on him and just get off like he's been doing. Both Spence and Crawford have shown they can get it done on the inside and outside, even in clinches they're both extremely strong. Boots ain't ran up against anything like what they'd pose yet. Both Spence and Crawford have shown they can handle speedsters, bombers, excellent counter punchers, dirty inside fighters, and pressure fighters etc............... Keith Thurman, Danny, Ugas (if he comes back) are all great fights for him next. Not Spence or Crawford though
I felt sorry for Clayton he looked really nervous at the pre-fight press conference the other day and it seemed to me Brian Custer was trying to sow seeds of doubt in his mind with some of the questions he was asking him. Clayton seems like a really nice guy to me and I didn't like that. Not that I think it would've changed the outcome or anything, but he was definitely very nervous. As said, both Errol and Terry have fought very few punchers, especially ones their own size and Super Boots can not only match them for size but he's fast, skillful, very rangey and his power looks lethal. Spence is far too easy to hit and the way he reacts to shots or has been hurt by shots from light to average hitters doesn't fill me with confidence he would be able to deal with that power at all and Crawford was dropped by one of the few genuine bangers he's fought in Egis.
Yes, im pretty damn sure Jarron Ennis beats both Spence and Crawford right now. He turns 25 next month, prime as prime gets. 30 fights under his belt, solid amateur career too. He's taller, longer, faster than both of them. Very skilled. Jarron Ennis is the reason (and the only reason) that Spence is now forced to fight Crawford. Fight your mandatory or unity with Crawford. There is no way out.
He has the chance to beat anybody. I do see some small things that only the top guys may be able to exploit, but the floor on a fighter like Ennis is very high.
I'm becoming a believer. Ennis is great for the division. A boxer-puncher showdown for all the Welterweight titles in the next 12 months would be tremendous. Great nickname, too. Boots.
I'm a huge fan of Ennis, I think he will go on to do great things. At this point I don't think he beats either - there is some maturing to do, some further experience to gain in the first instance. Here's hoping to see a very bright future develop for a very skilled fighter.
Boots has the talent, power and skill set to take over the welterweight division. But if he thinks he’ll just go from knocking out farmers & house painters to beating up an all time great like Crawford or generational talent like Spence he is going to get a rude awakening. He can’t stand with neither one of those guys yet...there are STILL LEVELS here.
Spence is physically stronger, more experienced over 12, probably the harder puncher and Ennis has technical deficiencies in defence, he often gets timed with backhands He needs more experience
