If you read my very first post in thread I was talking about Wilder rematching fury and comparing that to canelo vs bivol.
"Wilder could have just kept milking out his WBC belt. Instead he called out fury daring him to get in shape so they can have a legacy fight." That's the first fight, and it was a bad miscalculation by Team Wilder, they thought Fury was cooked and Wilder could get the lineal champ on his resume. Whoopsy!
He tried to avenge a brutal KO loss against the best fighter in his division. He didn't have to rematch fury and nobody expected him to.
Your words! First 2 lines of the thread The whole premise of either of them "daring to be great" is deeply suspect.
I know they were my words. Do you want a cookie? What did the rest of the post talk about? No wonder boxing is dead, all you fans want to do is rehash the same thing over and over again for half a decade.
And what would he have done if he didn't rematch Fury?? Go back to the scrubs he'd been fighting?? This thread makes no sense at all.
What doesn't make sense is talking about hypothetical scenarios instead of giving Wilder credit for trying to avenge a brutal KO loss.
I can't stand the overrated, gift receiving ginger nut Canelo but he's a MUCH MUCH better fighter than Wilder.
He wasn't obligated to rematch fury. He was no longer the champion and nobody expected him to fight again after such a bad loss. You will write anything except giving credit to a guy for having bigger balls than anyone in your family. If Wilder was simply doing his job then so was canelo and neither dared to be great.
