He really only cared about the Green belt and becoming lineal.

No it wasn't. He just fought pac in the fight of the era. He could've retired in the ring after that fight.

It was the fight of the era due to PPV. but not relevant or a good fight to watch. They both made bank which is fair enough.
I think undisputed has become more relevent in recent years because a few have managed to achieve it. I think the issue in the last few decades was getting those fights made as the promoters were less willing to take that risk. I think once some of the old timers go like Arum then I think these fights will get made more often.

Also becoming lineal was a much bigger thing then. Undisputed is the big thing now. Also if you plan on moving up in weight becoming undisputed takes alot of time to do and can be held up due to rival promoters and networks sometimes.

WBO champion from 2002 to 2007. IBF champion 2008 WBA champion 2008 Floyd was a welterweight since 2006. I mean, do I have to post the video we all know about? He retired because he wasn’t ready to fight Margarito or Cotto in 2008. In his post fight interview after Hatton these are his own words. “I’m not trying to fight no welterweights”.

Exactly and I think for some of these guys recently they have not been in really strong divisions with weaker paper champs.
So clearing a division like Super Middle is easier at the moment as there's very few elite fighters at that weight.
So I think for the likes of Canelo. Taylor. Crawford it was a little easier than if they fought 10-15 years ago when those divisions were deeper.
Also if a popular fighter is moving upto a division with no name belt holders then those fights are easy to make as there money fights for those lower profile fighters. So for Canelo it was straight forward as all those at super middle wanted that payday that they wouldn't get fighting anyone else.

Arum stated that Mayweather would have fought Margarito for the 8 million, but he wanted a guaranteed 10 million to fight Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton. Arum only guaranteed him 7 million. And for those who don’t know Cotto and Hatton were at the Mayweather-Gatti fight and Cotto was ranked number 5 by the ring at the time (Proof: Listen to the commentary Jim Lampley at the end of round 5) . Cotto had just moved up to the 140 pound weight class and he didn’t make an offer to fight Mayweather after the Gatti fight.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn’t interested in participating in. “That’s not in the cards,” Arum said. “He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It’s not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em. We’ll talk about things down the road.” Notice this part Arum was talking.

He could have fought him after. He didn’t. He ducked. Not sure why it bothers Floyd fans. He was very selective in his career choices. He was safety first inside and outside the ring. That’s why he chose Hatton in 2007 and “retired” afterwards.

Arum low balled pbf with the options purses. Had he given him what he wanted which in retrospect is a steal he would've fought that bum schooled him and you'd be here talking about he was scared and ducked someone else who would've beaten him. The only reason people like you bring margo up is because pbf didn't fight him that's it. Just wishful thinking and hating.

Becoming undisputed in 4 belts era wasn’t common until Crawford did it in 2017, and then Usyk in 2018.

Blame it on Arum all you want. Floyd was clearly not confident enough in his ability to do it. He fought Marquez because he had a whole country behind him!:risas3:

Yet he fought 3 of those 4 all after he left that snake arum who lowballed him. He beat all 3 yet is scared of the worst fighter and easiest stylistic match up of the 4? :risas3: Log off!

He was scared. At least you admit that. A volume puncher with length, stamina to match and iron chin. I’d say it was a terrible stylistic matchup for him. Floyd chose his opponents like he fought. With safety in mind. And that’s fine. Not sure why it bothers his fans though.
