    Basically, police state Australia really hates a 30-year-old drug charge for Haney Sr, and for Lil' Ben you get three guesses, and if the first two aren't "Kinahan" they don't count. I have to say, they really want to make me cheer for Haney here...

    Haney's Dad should have kept himself out of trouble earlier in life. That's not Kamboso's or Australia's fault.
    No different than Fury's Dad not being able to travel with him due to his history...

    How did they not consider this while negotiating the fight? Australia is well regarded as one of the strictest countries for entering/exiting their borders. Sounds like naivety to me.

    When fighter’s fight at home they usually under-perform. Suddenly, they have distractions, family, sleeping in their own bed etc. These challenges make Haney a bigger threat imo. He’s a smart kid, and so is his dad.

    True enough, but IIRC Haney did his early fighting in Tijuana. When I drove there I didn't even have to show a driver's license to get in. Coming back they do a full check but I can see why he might develop the idea that international travel is no big deal.

    Haney had better get to Australia AT LEAST two weeks before the bout to get over jet lag. Took me a
    day or two but I wasn't going to meet a man who wanted to punch me in the face.
