I'm talking early 90 s Holyfield. The guy who got in to a war with Bert Cooper and Came off worse against Bowe. Does that one last 15, against the rampaging, liver killing, Smokin Joe Frazier?!!
Very ungrateful to predict. I don't think FOTC Frazier would have knocked out Holyfield in a 12-round fight, and in 15 rounds the story changes.
Nope. I see what you're aiming for by suggesting Frazier can do better than Cooper and actually finish Hoylfield, but I don't see that happening. Holyfield got caught by a good shot, recovered, and then finished off an opponent he was dominating for at least 70% of the fight. Bowe hits harder than Frazier, has a longer reach, and a wider variety of punches besides just hooks. The fact he badly hurt and dropped Hoylfield doesn't suddenly suggest anything for Frazier either. Other than being good at inside fighting, Bowe and Frazier were very different. I do think FOTC Frazier certainly has a chance of beating that version of Hoylfield, maybe even knocking him down more than once in the process. But I don't see him stopping him unless Hoylfield has one of those weird heart scares like the Moorer/3rd Bowe fight or he's out of shape.
Yep I get what ur saying. And the chances of Holyfield been stopped are always slim. I think Holy would war with Joe, try to stop him early, but put himself in danger constantly. Once we're heading in to the championship round s, then I see Joe having a excellent chance of stopping him.
Potentially yes. In a fifteen round fight between two prime versions of Frazier and Holyfield, either man could be stopped. It would be a close range inside fight with both of them throwing everything they had at each other. Bloody brawl
Joe Frazier of March 8 1971 would have not hated Evander Holyfield, the driving force beside talent that made Joe unstoppable was the intense hatred of Muhammad Ali due to the verbal abuse that he had to endure during Ali's absence from boxing. Also the fact that Frazier felt betrayed after trying to help Ali get his boxing license back by speaking to President Richard M. Nixon in order to pave way for their epic battle. Joe had also helped Ali financially as Ali was paying off lawyers to fight his 1967 conviction of Draft Evasion.
Early 90s Holyfield, Frazier has a good chance of stopping him, IMO. Holyfield doesn't have the strength and size he did later. He also doesn't hit that much harder than the likes of Quarry, Ali, etc, and he can't play the evasion game better than FOTC Ali. The X factor is if Holyfield ultimately turns out to be tougher and more durable than Frazier in a brawl. Which wouldn't be that surprising, even though everyone automatically assumes the opposite.
Preach it Rich, I feel like Frazier is a force of nature, but that version Frazier is only summoned against Ali.
"FOTC Frazier - Would He Stop Holyfield?" I think, in light of the Holyfield vs. Tyson fights, the exact opposite is the question I'd ask myself, unless I thought Frazier was stronger than Tyson. Would Holyfield have stopped Frazier? I think most times he probably would have. IMHO, of course.
Holyfield went 15 rds with Qawi in his, Holyfield's, 11th fight. 1986. I don't think Frazier stops Holyfield.
It’s possible but not probable in my mind. I do think Joe would win, but too much respect for peak Holy to think a KO would be likely.
Joe doesn't do great in the early rounds, but is one of the select fighters whom could draw Holy into a firefight. Thus Holy gets stopped in 11.
