Yes it is very likely he would be, he brings a set of attributes like mobility that boxers of his size normally lack. Big, mobile, with good gas tank and a boxing brain is quite a combination
He would be terrible 270 pounds 6'8" Men this size (not that they exist) just like Fury have massive problems with stamina and agility. They are cumbersome loaths. He'd be totally useless and he gets hurt by cruiserweights. I don't think we'll ever see a man of this size be agile it seems to be a physical limitation, it's a real shame. Imagine if Fury was quick and mobile with great stamina? he'd be fierce. Oh well we can dream.
I don't think he would have any trouble in the 80s, it wasn't a strong boxing era. The 90s would have been a challenge, but the 90s was a strong era for heavyweights and would be a challenge for anyone. I would have loved to see Fury against prime Lewis, prime Bowe, and seen how he would hold up against someone with the will of Holyfield. And depending on when in the 90s, even a young Vitali.
Struggle isn't the right word. Yes, there would be much better competition, and this would give him the opportunity to really blossom. He would have great fights against Lewis, Holy, Bowe, Tyson, Holmes, Foreman, Moorer, Mercer, Morrison, Douglas, McCall, Smith, Tate, Thomas, Weaver, Page, Tucker, Tubbs, Berbick, Cooetzee, Dokes, etc, And yes, he would win quite a few of them.
hate him or not the guy is a generational talent and would translate well to any era, doesn't mean he'd be the best but he'd certainly compete .. top 10 in some of those eras.. have you seen some of those in the top 10 .. he would wipe the floor with them LOL.. listen to Emanuel Steward he knows what he's talking about..
Vitali couldn't even walk through Chris Byrd .. i'm a big fan of Vitali but the idea that he'd walk through fury when he couldn't even walk through Chisora or Kevin Johnson is laughable
We know for a fact that power cannot defeat him because he's fought three of the hardest punching HWs in history in Wlad, The Bronze Dosser and David Price And no man born from their mother outside of Usyk is going to outslick him Tyson Fury's greatest opponents are Usyk and Tyson Fury
The 80’s had prime versions of Mike and Larry. Larry Holmes was a great HW with great attributes. Mike was a wrecking ball who’d have been extremely elusive and difficult to time for Fury.
I think he'd be very interesting against Holmes and Mike. I don't think he'd win. I think he'd beat everyone else for sure. He'd have definitely won the WBA title at least once.
