Overall, I'd like the sport more. I might enjoy reading about the history of it less, but the actual sport, I'd like more.
I don't think it would affect me at all. While I hope all athletes live a happy, healthy, safe live I really only care about their in ring, on the field or on the court exploits. I just don't care about the rest one way or another.
I don't want to play the moralizer here at all but boxing would definitely be better if it were as clean as possible. Surely all the seedy sites can be fascinating and interesting but that's not really the point of boxing. The best fighters should fight each other under fair conditions. Otherwise, I can also read a crime story or watch a mafia thriller....
Yes i would like boxing more, but that perhaps is based upon my own values in life of everything being black and white (not race before some kindly person says) and there being no grey area, right and wrong no excuses. However the pragmatist/realist in me knows there are dodgy folk who do not play on the level, and the governing bodies of our sport do not deal with them firmly enough eg take PEDs and you get a brief ban, my view is it should be a lifetime ban. Nefarious activities have always been part of our sport, so not liable to change anytime soon.
We'd still be watching people give each other TBI's for our entertainment and attempting to rationalize it.
