Fury vs Wilder 1 I thought there was no way Fury would be in shape for such a step up after his downward spiral and 2 low level comeback fights. I'm glad I was wrong
Hagler Leonard is one I got all wrong, I was expecting the Hagler of the Hearns and Mugabi fights to show up as I couldn't see Leonard even remotely bothering Marvin. What I saw was a fighter who threw punches like he was under water. As Gill Clancy once said," a fighter can age overnight".
Balboa vs drago, i though rockys lack of defense and dragos murderous power were a recipe for disaster.
That's a good one. I didn't know boxing well enough at the time to have preconceived notions going into it, as that fight was my introduction to Mayorga, but had I been more knowledgeable at the time that would have been a legit upset lol.
Foreman/Frazier 1 Norton/ Ali 1 Buchanan/Laguna Shibata/ Saldivar Qwai/Saad Monzon/Benvenuti Sterling/Rowe Ali/Foreman Gardner/Sykes Anderson/Hudson Vinales/Briscoe Randal/Chavez Chacon/Lopez Backus/Napoles 1 Douglas/Tyson Bent/Morrison to name a few... stay safe guys.
Judah-Khan. I remember getting +300 on Judah and figured that was an absolute gift. I figured Judah was going to shatter his glass chin, Judah probably matched Khan in handspeed. I just couldn't see how he wasn't going to land and clean KO Khan like everyone else. Well, Judah had Pernell Whitaker as his trainer and Judah was no Sweet Pea. He ended up trying to box with Khan instead of blasting him out and well he ultimately lost the fight (and me money).
Most recent wrong pick was Canelo over Bivol. The only time I ever picked against Floyd Mayweather was the Ricky Hatton fight.....boy, did I ever get that one wrong. It doesn't matter if the ref was part to blame, or the weight or whatever excuses are out there, there's no way on earth he could have beaten Floyd.
I'd have to say De la Hoya vs Pacquiao as well as Judah vs Malinaggi and B-hop vs Trinidad. I said no one that couldn't hurt Judah or was as small and pillow fisted as Malinaggi was, would beat Judha but boy was I wrong.
Came on to say the same one hatton v pacman. Thought pacman was being massively overrated off the back of beating up what appeared to be a massively weightdrained de la hoya and hatton would be too big and strong for him. Turned out to be embarrisingly wrong. Would have been interesting if hatton caught him with something tho because outside of pacman giving him a battering....hatton started throwing with reckless abandon in that second round....i think pacman said hatton hurt him a bit at one point after the fight. Not long before pacman conclusively finished it.
