    Who would win?

Or will the over-protective Leonard Ellerbe have Gervonta Davis avoid Devin Haney in the years to come?

Haney can fight tall and use his skills but tank is a one shot ko artist. Tough fight to predict. I could see Haney outboxing tank to a win and I could see tank making Haney leave the ring on a stretcher.

    "Davis will avoid Haney".

Not necessarily because he loses, but the odds aren't heavily enough in his favour.

Could go either way, both fighters overhyped - wouldn't be massively surprised either way.

No way Tank ever fights Haney. Tank will wait until Haney grows out of the division. He might not be smart but he is a cherry picking expert. Can’t wait to see the stiff Tank digs up to be his next opponent. It won’t be Haney.

    Tank knocks Haney out.

Haney has superior skills but his chin won't hold up against Tank.

I doubt if they'll ever fight because Davis is very carefully matched, but if they did, Haney would win due to his effective "jab and grab " style, which works well against smaller men.

Twink would run away from the fight at breakneck speed

And if they did actually fight each other Haney would run away for 12 rounds at breakneck speed

Regardless if you're a Floyd fan or not, he put on clinics of beautiful boxing with clean, accurate shots being landed everytime he let his hands go. Haney only landed like three straight right hands on Kambosos' chin all night even though he was much bigger than him with a significant reach advantage and Kambosos had his left hand hanging low all night. Floyd's right would've been landing on that chin like a homing missile

Haney, like Dre did with B-Hop, has stolen the old man version of Floyd's style and he can't even do it half as good

Teofimo landed a lot of straight rights on Kambosos

Look at how easy Cordina made it look

I think Tank Walks Haney down all night & eventually stops him late.
People don’t give Tank enough credit for his boxing ability.

his power overshadows his boxing skills but he definitely knows how to set his power up for the killing blow.

it has every bit to do with the sweet science as hit & not get hit / “swim without getting wet”

I can't say who would win but it basically would go down as Haney being exceptionally boring and outboxing Tank with not a lot of action.
Tank could put him to sleep though no doubt and I do believe he would land clean.

I seriously doubt either guy is afraid of the other but I will say Tank is better than George so this wouldn't be some wipeout for Haney and Tank could put early rounds in the bank because I would seriously doubt Devin would commit too much until he found the range.

This would be an interesting matchup.

On the surface it seems to me that this is a stylistically bad matchup for Davis. Haney is taller with a longer reach and uses his jab to great effect. Also, Davis is not a busy fighter in the ring. He is careful and selective with his punches and that, along with, Haney's jab will make it very difficult for Tank to win a points decision.

The thing is that from a Davis point of view this is not a great matchup for Haney. Davis isn't concerned about winning decisions. As you know, he is all about the knockout and the man hits hard. To my way of thinking, Haney does not have a great chin. Linares shook him and so did someone else. I am not saying Devin has a glass jaw or anything like that I am just saying it is not his best trait. This gives Davis the kind of opportunity he needs.

I have Haney winning this but Davis has a very live puncher's chance.

By the way, for the life of me I cannot remember who the other guy was that shook Haney up with a good shot. Perhaps that has to do with being old enough to remember listening to Cassius Clay before he became champ and changed his name. :(

Prime Floyd would clean out the current 130 and 135 divisions. People forget how good Floyd was below 147.

At this point i'd say Haney, as Davis, although he looks good, hasn't fought anyone decent yet. Can't pick him with any real confidence so Haney by default.

But the much more likely scenario is Tank (or his handlers) wouldn't take the fight.

Also, for what it's worth, I would much prefer it if Davis KO'd Haney as Haney is dull as ditch water.

Not seen much of haney but looking forward to davis stepping up.

Rated him highly from early on....but a few big questionmarks remain....mindset, concentration and dedication. If he can answer them questions going forward tho....he could turn out better than people expect.
