Similar fight to Pavlik vs Hopkins I'd say.

Young lion with something to prove vs the old cagey vet that can make him look bad.

Haye should be able to win this, but Toney might just have enough left in the tank to make it interesting.

Toney's power at HW is not enough to KO heavyweights, but should be plenty to hurt someone who's been downed by super middleweights and cruiserweights.

Toney beats Haye like a step child...since throwing himself headfirst into the HW picture, all Haye has done is attack with his mouth and postphone an October debut until November.

Haye's heart is starting to show by his comments about Rahman. Disapointed Hasim lost, so now he can't pick up the easy win. Sorry David you aren't going to defeat the one time Lewis conqueror at home in your HW debut.

Toney beats Haye, Haye wouldn't chance his potential pay day.

David Haye is an idiot, he wants to just walk into the 200lb division getting the tip top names without fighting any gate keepers? Isn't that how it works? You fight a gatekeeper to wet your feet into the division, depending on your performance then you usually get a title fight...at least thats how prize fighting works as of late. Haye runs his ****ing mouth left and right, if he doesn't respond to Toney's loud mouth then you know hes ****ing looking for an ez win to lead into his death against Wlad. He BETTER have a response for Toney if not that is ridiculous.

Haye will kill him. James Toney has no ****ing movement, hes always been a falt footed fighter, but since he started training at Taco Bell his feet are practically cemeneted to the canvas. He's not going to look good against the athleticism of Haye. He can be hurt at heavyweight, aged 40, and Haye is the sort of fighter that will end him.

Of course but his power is not near the top and isn't enough that Haye has to be extra cautious.

Toneys been dropped by former middleweights as well, so your logic is flawed anyway.

Big fan of Haye, but this matchup is all wrong for him to join the heavyweight ranks. Rahman, Maskaev, etc... are perfect and tailormade for Haye to make his point. Toney is all wrong for him...

Why are people still talking about James Toney? A guy that is overweight, over the hill, and went life and death with Danny ****ing Batchelder before his headbutt TKO over washed up Hasim Rahman.
Aside from entertaining interviews Toney isn't good for much else anymore.
Toney has a great cihn but he is not invincible, at his age and with the amount of punishment he has already taken over his long career, Toney could sustain serious damage against a young huge puncher like Haye.
David Haye needs to leave these old men alone and go after someone with a detectable pulse if he wants to prepare for someone like Klitschko. A victory over the likes of Maskaev, Rahman, or Toney may look OK on paper but in reality will not help Haye develop as a serious threat to Klitschko's crown.
