Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte PPV buys FLOPPED at only 40,000 on ESPN!!

The fight was mainly aimed at the British and European market.

 

Really? Who could have guessed!

I'm assuming Frank barely broke even or fell short but he knew that would happen hence why the big push for Wembley seats...and why Fury said he'd retire to sell them seats

Eddie's offer was much more realistic. Whyte would have found a way to pull out though with such a lesser payday.

 

I’m truly surprised at the low figures for this after Whyte really went the extra mile and the time he took to promote this fight .

 

I went to the movie theatre, how does that count against the PPV number?

 

They certainly filled that stadium, but what was the TV revenue? Was it PPV or terrestrial free?

 

The fight wasn’t marketed in the US and also had a dreadful undercard. I buy 80% of PPVs and even I didn’t get this one for that reason.

 

Anyone know how much $ they make from the Gate and the UK PPV buys

Dillian Whyte did everything in his power to work against promoting the fight and he succeeded.

 

If most american fighters barely have a fanbase in the USA why do people think Fury is going to break into the USA market? You always have people say “ bro tank and spence sell out the venues in brooklyn and texas! And “ wow 300,000 ppvs is great! “, no it’s not good and the delusion is sad. Usa hasnt had a real ppv star since tyson, and the over 4.6 million buys for floyd and pacquiao happened because mainstream america thought it was going to be a greaf fight but we all know here it was many years late. Over 4.3 million buys for floyd and connor because it was a freakshow.

like i said in many posts on this board, all the boxers today have less charisma than an overcooked microwave turkey, the promoters are frustrated because its up to the boxers to sell. Most of the boxers today carry themselves horribly and cant relate to the corporate world for sponsorships, either they curse too much or during interviews they sound like they are talking to a psychiatrist sounding depressed.

 

It wasn't worth $75. Not with that lousy undercard. Plus I knew the Davis fight was coming up along with Kambosos, which I thought was PPV.

 

It was aimed at the Bri'ish paper view public.
Although I doubt they did break even with the insane pursebid.
