Kownacki will face Ali Eren Demirezen on July 30th in NY.

Comeback fight for Kownacki and Demirezen's third fight this year. :chuck:

Interesting fight - Demirezen has a great opportunity here to raise his profile.

Demirezen is legit, 1:1 against Joyce in the amateur ranks (the fight he lost was really close) and stopped Yoka in their amateur fight.
Never been stopped or dropped in either the pro or amateur ranks, had a close fight with Ajagba and for what it's worth he beat Washington this year. If he comes in not too heavy and with good conditioning he should win this one.

    The loser should retire.

    And so should the winner.

Agreed. Brawler vs. Pressure Fighter/Slugger. Kownacki won't have quite the stylistic problem he faced with Helenius.

I still like Demirezen to win, but Kownacki is battling to salvage his career and I suspect he can still be a handfull.

Dacarree Scott (7-0-0) will face off against Jonathan Guidry (17-1-2), on the June 11th Bryan v. DuBois card.

This fight hasn't really gotten much attention - but I think this has the potential to be really, really good.

We know that Guidry can box well enough to give Trevor Byran a very hard time - and Guidry took that fight on short notice. He's had more time to train for Saturday's bout

Dacarree "Mac Truck" Scott isn't a name that's really come up here before. He's a short HW (like Guidry) - with a height of only 5' 10". He's occasionally weighed in at 270+ lbs - suggesting that this particular truck is carrying too much cargo. He's only 23 years old.

I don't think Scott will make it to the top of the division - even if he loses the 45+ lbs that he really needs to. Simply put, he'll run out of inches.

But it's pretty clear that he's got some serious punching power (see video below). So he should make for some good entertainment until he finds his ceiling.

Another reason to like Scott is his obvious ambition. He already has a 10 round fight under his belt. It wasn't a tremendous success - he won only by SD - and his opponent wasn't anything special (Ahmed Samir Hefny). But he took that fight on only 3 days notice and managed to go all 10 rounds despite being at a career-high 276 lbs. and having to fight a rangier opponent who stayed on his bicycle the entire time.

And now he's going after Jonathan Guidry in just his 8th fight. Like I said...ambitious.

Sort of reminds me of a "turbocharged Jo-el Caudle". Should be good fun.

Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller will apparently make good on his comeback threat with a June 25th bout against Onoriode Ehwarieme.

The 6' 7" Nigerian-born Onoriode Ehwarieme sports a 20-2-0 record. Those of you with strong powers of recall will recognize him as having lost his "0" to journeyman Rodney Hernandez in 1st round KO fashion back in 2019. He's since suffered a second KO to Kazakh Zhan Kossobutskiy - though he made a better go of it having lasted until the 4th round.

So this is your typical comeback fight - choose an opponent who can pass an eye test and whose record suggests he could be a plausible threat. Of course, his actual threat-level falls apart under even the lightest of analysis...

Some HW notes from the weigh-in for tomorrow night's "Shobox the New Generation" card:

Bakhodir Jalolov weighed in at 251 lbs to face Jack Mulowayi at 242 lbs. No suprises there.

George Arias, at 219 lbs, seemed to be in better shape than Alante Green at 223 lbs. That's a bit suprising given that Green hasn't fought at HW for several years and Arias is taking the fight on short notice. OTOH, Green's original opponent - Elvis Munoz Garcia - was likely to weigh in at around 235-240 lbs (if not more) and it's possible Green was preparing for a larger fighter than Arias.

Joe Jones' (210 lbs) myserious last-minute disappearance from the Browne-Fa card last week can now be explained. Instead of facing an almost-certain poleaxing from the heavy hands of Hemi Ahio, he's chosen instead to fight former (but now repeatedly-exposed) prospect, Amron Sands. That seems to be a much safer assignment considering that Sands has been stopped by his last two opponents and, at 281 lbs, has apparently sought his solace at the dinner table.
