    Lol at OP.

Mayweather fought De La Hoya at 154 and actually weighed in at around 150. De La Hoya has fought as high as MW and that was not a shot version of him either.

It was Pacquiao who fought the over the hill weight drained version of Oscar, not Mayweather.

Regardless of what you think about Mayweather’s record, it’s not relevant. 99% of boxing fans know that he could fight in any era and be a world champion.

He beat everyone comfortably, Castillo 1 was close but that’s about it. Beat him easy in the rematch. So you could put that down to an off night, clearly not skill related.

Outside of that, anyone who you think he should have fought would most likely get beaten easily anyway. Who do you have in mind that he ducked that would have beat him? The only one that comes to mind that could have been close was probably Paul Williams at 147. On the other hand it could easily have become the same fight as the Coralles fight.

Just face it, Mayweather achieved greatness and there’s nothing you, me or anyone can say to change that.

    He is an ATG

I had him beating castillo by a point i think. Tbf he injured his hand or shoulder in that fight. Was a terrific fighter in fairness....dont think thats even up for debate.

The tbe stuff is mental tho....i dont even think it was possible the way he handled his career. For someone so great he probably is one of the most embarrasing in terms of cherry picking at the right time and fear of real competition. Name most of the greats....most of them took on the big challenges without too many problems.

Just looking at ali for example...fought frazier three times. Foreman....liston. liston was slowing down but it was more just the timing the fight happened as opposed to it being micromanaged like floyd did it. Even tho the 0,s to be respected...big achievement...it doesnt bypass guys that challenged themselves to a higher degree than floyd did. Too many fights like mosely too old...or hatton too small....or canelo too drained. Or marquez too small. All good to great fighters....just took them at the right time or the right weight.

You can maybe give Floyd the Castillo fight 114-112, I think it really depends on who you give the 5th to, but I think Castillo won the fifth. That said, he was never beat clearly and all things considered he was the most skilled 2000-2014. He was never an 8 division champion like Pac, but he was more dominant and successful by far.

    All of this is true.

But he is also the most talented boxer of the past fifteen years or more, and despite all the fights he avoided, he is a pretty decent resume.

I put him somewhere in the middle of the second ten, all-time.

The thing some people don't seem to realize is that it's actually VERY rare for two great fighters to fight each other while both are in their absolute prime, partly because of boxing politics and partly because of how physically demanding a sport boxing is.

People claim Floyd was scared to take risks but unlike Pacquiao he gave his 2 toughest fights (castillo and maidana) an immediate rematch. Don’t let hate blind ou

The OP makes some of the dumbest threads I have seen.
This one is no different. I don't even like Floyd but this is ridiculous.

ROFL Floyd got his ass kicked by Marcos Maidana proving he simply cannot FIGHT!!!!!! He was in tears at the interview when he actually said " Marcos Maidana roughed me up & beat me up, it wasn't fair ref did nothing to stop him" Hilarious LOL No one told Floyd you have to actually FIGHT yourself he thought all you had to do was show up, run ,dance , hold repeat & let the judges take care of the decision Floyd was :crybaby2::crybaby2: like a baby while Ellerbe:eaea::eaea: cuddled & consoled him saying " We'll get Uncle Kenny Bayless for the rematch he'll make sure you win
