Horrible promoting I have fight similar size arenas and Im not near WBA championship level.

Whyte is a British Level fighter sold by Eddie Hearn to the public as World Class because he had landed a punch on Joshua.

Not much better than Chisora and an easy night for Big Dan.

Whyte has no chin.

 

Old school boxing promoters don't understand that because modern sport is funded by competitive, as opposed to monopolistic, TV rights, so the show and the 'look' matter as much as the sport. That last night looked like a pound shop version of Trump Plaza from Tyson-Spinks.

As did the fight.

 

He never uses feints and it hurt him v Joyce, he has no head movement.

 

How do you know Dubois has a chin?

 

Was it just me or was Bryant continually squinting throughout the "fight"? Almost like he was struggling to see beyond a few feet.

That aside, his condition was a joke for "a World Champion" (rolls eyes).

And as for his footwork...

Well Done to Daniel, can only beat what's in front of you.

 

Congrats to Dubois on his win but can't say he looked that good. Wasn't a great performance but he got the job done with a superb finish.

As for Trevor Bryan........ he was ****ing shocking. An absolute plumber's performance that.

Anyway, as most expected, an early finish from Dubois.

Also............. I've seen a bigger crowd in my local Wetherspoons. Call it a day Don.

It stood up to Joe Joyce, a hard hitting heavyweight with huge output - it was an eye injury that stopped the fight.

 

An important win for Dubois as he now has a fairly clear path to a world title fight, even if it takes 12-18 months for him that's no problem as he is so young- 24 a baby at the top HW level.

I've always rated Dubois and was convinced he would win at least one (proper, not 'regular') world title as despite not being perfect, he has so many attributes going for him (size, strength, age, top punching power, decent hand speed, solid jab, top coach, lives the life etc).. , in a weak, depleted division it's almost inevitable he wins at least one world title when or possibly even before the belts splinter.

He obviously also has the benefit of substantial backing, and a platform which is just as important as all of the above.

I picked him to beat Joyce which I got wrong like a lot of other people, but since then I have been surprised at how easily he has been written off when he clearly has a lot going for him and is a talent.

I think at this stage he would splatter Whyte and Chisora. I actually don't think either would cause him much of an issue as that last uppercut shows Dillian's punch resistance is gone he's simply been hurt one too many times and the physical decline is clear. If nothing else Dubois is a huge, devastating puncher. That's a horrible fight for Whyte as he gets beaten up badly and knocked out in 5-6 rounds. Ditto Chisora. Derek should really retire after the Pulev fight whatever the result. Dubois for him is a unwinnable fight, he would just be taking a paycheck which he does not really need to get knocked out.

As for Bryan, he was truly atrocious. I knew he would be terrible, but he was worse, MUCH worse than I expected.

 

Just caught up on the fight and it's hard to judge Dubois too much because Bryan was so bad but I wasn't impressed. Awful show of boxing all round that and pretty embarrassing to claim this as high level boxing

 

Joyce mainly threw and landed jabs in that fight.
