One misconception some fans have is to look at Old George's career as one fighter. As if he was the same fighter in 1997 that he was in 1989 or 91. Fighters age in dog years anyway.
Point is the best version of Old George was vs Holyfield, a fight he lost but he gave a strong account of himself. That Foreman was better, sharper even quicker than the one in '93 or 94 and certainly thereafter.
Even the Alex Stewart fight was 92. Foreman had gotten paid, a big contract from HBO to commentate and he took Stewart lightly. Then ofcourse Foreman goes out and knocks him down twice in the opening round and Stewart got up and Boxed the shi! Out of George.
Remember he was 42 when he faced Evander. At that age nobody can afford to coast.

Berbick would get a gift decision. It would look similar to the Briggs fight. Foreman should be the rightful winner, but would get robbed.

Actually that could be a likely scenario.

I think Foreman held back some of his power also. He was afraid of really hurting someone. I would like to see Trevor get under Foreman’s skin and underneath the nice Foreman that brutal Foreman still lurked…… I could see a replay of What Foreman did to Cooney

I don't see Berbick being able to take the punching power. He might hang in there for 5 rounds.

Given your history, posts & reputation for Foreman dismissal, who is the *best* fighter you would pick peak Foreman to beat?
Jerry Lewis? Pee Wee Herman? Peak Danny Devito?

And who is the best fighter you would say old Foreman could defeat?
Mitt Romney now? Bette Midler? Stephen Hawking?

    Thank you John.
I was wondering if I should qualify if the physicist gets use of the wheelchair too, but figured it was unnecessary, even No Neck would assume Foreman could outlast Hawking if merely propped up against the ropes.

1981 Berbick is pulling off the mild upset. Dude went 15 rounds with Holmes and broke his 7 fight KO streak. He'd fare better against a slower methodical puncher in Foreman.

    1981 Berbick would've tore Alex Stewart a new *******.

I wouldn’t call it an upset. Berbick beat Tate, Page, Pink, and Bey. 90s Foreman wasn’t on that level.

Weren't Berbick and Foreman supposed to fight on HBO in 1990?

But you do. You lie to yourself all the time.

You picked the Witherspoon who was brutally KOd by smith in 1 round to beat Moorer despite basically half the forum laughing at you and having a landslide vote in favor of Moorer.

As Entaowed just demonstrated, it's pretty well known to everyone not to take you seriously whenever the thread is about Foreman.

And for the record, I think Berbick could win this before you play the fanboy card.
