If Joshua loses to Usyk and Fury doesn't take the bait, it's a disaster for DAZN. The last time DAZN tried this, Wilder stayed put and Fury signed with ESPN. And Wilder and Fury pocketed a boatload for their series. But the situation is different for those fighters now. ESPN may not want to resign Fury for the same amount, given they lost money on their deal with him. Only the Fury-Wilder fights made money. And Wilder still wants PPV fights but he doesn't have a title. His leverage is that among Fury, Joshua and Usyk, Wilder is the only one of the three who has shown he can sell US PPVs. And DAZN needs those sales, since the UK charges much less per PPV. DAZN has Joshua locked in. I expect they'll go after Fury next. Fury-Joshua is the fight they really want. That'll be the tipping point. IF DAZN can sign Fury, everything will fall in line for them. Joshua could lose the rematch with Usyk and DAZN would still have a unification. Should DAZN get Fury, Joshua and Usyk, Wilder will sign, too. That would set up any number of PPVs to finish Usyk and Wilder's careers, since they are the oldest. And IF DAZN can sign Fury and/or Wilder, that would be groundbreaking.
Joshua can sign with who ever he wants but if he loses to Usyk again we’ll let’s say it will be a long road back and it certainly will be a breaking deal.Be nice if Usyk, Fury and Wilder stay away from dazn instead of having to jump to Hearns bidding. If Joshua does indeed lose to Usyk again where does he go ? Be nice to see how it all plays out .
AJ Is one of the most overrated athletes in world sport… when you consider the amount of money , sponsorship and exposure he gets.. does that really match up with his actual achievements in the sport.. I don't think it does… The guy got splattered by a human blimp on his American debut.. don't understand why the establishment keep sucking this guys eggs so much.. he's good but hugely overrated/valued.. certainly not on the level of a Ronaldo or Federer or even Fury
One thing to keep in mind, though.... Most of that 100 million GBP might well be tied up in the value of the shares he's eligible to receive and there could be all sorts of conditions associated with that - e.g. options with strike prices, etc. Doesn't seem like it's guaranteed money to me.
