Former Middleweight king Roy Jones winning Heavyweight title George Foreman the oldest Heavyweight champ at 46 Joe Louis 25 consecutive title defences Mike Tyson youngest Heavyweight champ at 20 Rocky Marciano’s 49-0-0
1. Joe Louis 25 consecutive title defences (The record will never be broken in one belt of the era, because there is no longer one belt of the era. The alternative is for someone to defend the title of lineal champion 25 times) 2. Mike Tyson youngest Heavyweight champ at 20 (That would mean someone winning the heavyweight world title at 19; the top 10 heavyweights are about, or over 30 years old) 3. Rocky Marciano’s 49-0-0 (it's not just 49-0-0, but for someone to retire as the current champion, and the lineal champion. Minimal chances that someone will succeed) 4. Former Middleweight king Roy Jones winning Heavyweight title (some new "Thomas Hearns" who would have height, and start boxing in the middleweight category could do this; hypothetically) 5. George Foreman the oldest Heavyweight champ at 46 (this record seems to me the most possible to break because the puncher always has his chance; some 46.5 year old Deontay Wilder, against some champion like Charles Martin. Maybe Deotnay Wilder is not the best example)
Because Foreman is the last, right? I don't find anything impressive in Roy beating Ruiz for fake HW title.
I wouldn’t rule out Ruiz beating Moorer. As for the reasoning, if you put a promotional machine behind someone like McCall, I’m sure he’d have had a decent shot at taking out someone like Liakovich, Maskaev, or Rahman for a belt while in his mid forties. Holyfield went on the road and damn near did it against a giant. The truth is the truth.
1) Foreman 2) Louis 3) Marciano 4) Tyson 5) Jones To win the belt after twenty years is more impressive then at 45 but damn being 45 and winning it is a feat not likely to be repeated till steroids improve
