He doesn't have 5 "top guys". Only two mean anything regarding "legacy" which is talked about a lot lately. Wlad and Deontay. That's it.
1. Wlad - Povetkin, Haye, Pulev, Ibragimov & Byrd. - 2.Whyte - Povetkin, Parker, Rivas, Chisora x 2 & Helenius - Chisora & Wilder are interchangeable and debatable for third of fourth as they're level below Whyte. 3. Chisora - Takam, Helenius (robbed), Price & Spzilka. 4. Wilder - Ortiz x 2, Duhaupas, Spzilka, Washington and Breazeale. - 5. Cunningham - Huck & Wlodarczyk.
1. Wlad (obviously) 2. Wilder 3. Whyte 4. Chisora 5. Cunningham 6. Wallin 7. Hammer* 8. Pajkic 9. Johnson 10. McDermott Not much depth in there.
Fury's resume is better than AJ's who people seem to commend because they are brainwashed thinking 40 year old povetkin or pulev mean something. Fury has dominated men who most struggle with. Usyk or Joyce are the only scalps I'd care to see AJ would be such an easy fight for Fury. Usyk will deal with him though. Haye in 2012 should have been Fury's come out party and that would have been a brutalisation and massacre.
1. Wlad 2. Wilder 3. Chisora/Whyte 5. Cunningham Wallin's reputation comes almost entirely from his more competitive than expected loss to Fury. I don't think he belongs at all when the rest had other reasons to rate them.
The problem with some of Fury's wins is that the opponents went on to become journeymen instead of retiring, so people pretend they were no good. Hammer (junior gold medallist) and Johnson (title contender, went distance with Vitali) would be considered good wins for AJ if he'd fought them when Fury did, and Cunningham would be an excellent win, though Cunningham may well have outboxed 26 yr old AJ. What's annoying about the Fury opponent critiques is that it's implied he ducked all these top fighters. Who was he supposed to fight to give him the resume of killers? Let's take a look. Price got beat by Thompson and started taking L's so people no longer rated him. Vitali had retired. The fight with Haye was made but fell through twice. {Fury is out for three years.} AJ wouldn't give Fury a proper split during the comeback. Then AJ lost to Ruiz. Then Ruiz lost to AJ and went missing. Parker had already lost to AJ and then officially to Whyte and then other poor performances followed. People pretended Fury ducked Wilder after the first fight, then Fury fought him twice more. People pretended Fury was ducking Whyte to fight Wilder, then Fury fought Whyte. So who's left? Povetkin had peaked and was basically finished when Fury made his comeback. That fight was never really there. Ortiz had been KO'd by Wilder, then again. So why would Fury fight him over Wilder? All that's left is the Wlad rematch. So Fury basically proved he went AWOL by how he ended up, but even if people were to say that's a fighter Fury avoided, he'd already fought him. People should start posting all the top fighters Fury was supposed to fight but ran from to create his thin resume instead. That would be interesting.
Yeah the guy was basically forced to fight nobody ranked inside the top 40 inbetween Wilder fights lmao
I don't like him but his wins over Vlad and Wilder are top notch. He went into their own backyards and schooled them.
When whyte and chisora are in ur top 5 of opponents that uve beat then u know ur resume is kinda ****. To think there is folk on this forum who shout crazy stuff about Fury being the best of all time as well?!?!
Wlad Wilder Whyte Chisora Cunningham You could also swap Cunningham out for Hammer or Wallin if you're talking H2H. Hammer never really achieved much in his career though, and Wallin is still untested. It's a pretty top heavy resume though, sort of like Deontay if he was a resume. No legs.
