Other than the KD, Usyk completly schooled Beterbiev in this fight. Made him look a fool, Usyk looked extremely fast in this fight, he should have went pro sooner

Yes, all Usyk fanboys are well aware of this. So this is no gotcha moment. He was also dropped by a body shot by Majidov in the WSB, a one that was partially deflected, which somehow ricoheted, turning into a bit of a low blow. But both guys are huge punchers, and Usyk recovered immediately and went back to schooling both of them, and winning very legit decisions. So.... not sure what the point is.

I think the point is that Beterbiev hits very hard (a point everyone knew already), Usyk is a master boxer (everyone knew that too) and they clashed in the ams (many knew that).

Beterbiev is a monster and he would rule the cruiserweight division now since Usyk left.

Putting Lawrence Okolie in with Beterbiev is like putting a turkey in a slaughterhouse. He would stand no chance. Only Briedis can beat big Artur

The disparity in size between Beterbiev and Usyk in 2011 is less than you would imagine . It became greater after both turned professional, Usyk bulked up and Beterbiev trains down to 175.

It's so sad that Hearn blocked that fight after Usyk became undisputed, Beterbiev was ready to move up and sign with Hearn, if he could manage that fight at CW for all the belts.

You haven’t actually seen the fight have you? Both this and the following fight at the Olympics were scored 17-13, with Beterbiev constantly backing up and bullying Usyk. This was essentially a Usyk highlight video. Go watch the actual full fight. Beterbiev won both of these fights (Worlds and Olympics) imo. He also dropped Usyk with a similar body shot at the Olympics. Usyk also looks slow against smaller guys, so who knows what you’re seeing.

It’s actually more than you imagine. Beterbiev was weighing in at around 185lbs at amateur heavyweight (probably a bit less than his fight night weight today) and Usyk was cutting to make 200lbs in the same division. Usyk looked sluggish at that weight later in his amateur career. Usyk has never bulked up, his walk around weight is 210-220. It’s easier to cut weight in the pros so he made 200 more easily than in the amateurs, and at heavyweight now he just gets to completely avoid the cut and walk straight into the ring.

Usyk is also better against bigger guys because the difference in speed and skills is more pronounced. Usyk’s success at cruiser will always be a bigger achievement than anything he can do at heavyweight imo. I disagree that Usyk won these fights against Beterbiev though.
