So many people, from boxers, to analysts, to boxing fans, have said that Khan would have been Floyd's hardest fight, but I disagree. I think Brook would have been a harder fight, due to his size, height and jab. Brook has a great jab, which is Floyd's Kryptonite. De La Hoya and Cotto gave him trouble with their jabs.
I dont think either would be particularly difficult for him Brook would have been the tougher test given Khan's ring IQ though
I don't think either of them beat him, or even come close to beating him. I just think Brook would give him more trouble.
Khan's best performance is his mythical matchup against Floyd. There really isn't much to make one believe that he would have sustained success. Brook may do better, but he's pretty ABC which wouldn't be enough. I'd pick guys like Thurman, Porter, and obviously Spence/Crawford to do better than both of them.
I don't understand where all the hype for Khan comes from. Every time Khan fought someone who wasn't feather-fisted or past it, he lost.
I also think Porter would have given Floyd more trouble than Khan. Porter was relentless, awkward, and strong as an ox. Porter did very well against pure boxers with little power, like Malignaggi and Alexander.
Brook would've been figured out and shut down fairly early. His jab would land more than other fighters would, but he wouldn't win many rounds. Khan would get timed really early and likely stopped late. Of the subsequent era to Floyd, Porter is one who has the worst style for him. Him or Crawford.
I've heard so many people say, "Khan would give Floyd trouble because Floyd isn't a hard puncher, so he wouldn't hurt Khan!". Since when do you need to be a hard puncher to hurt Khan? Limond, Gomez, Vargas and Diaz dropped Khan, and those guys couldn't crack an egg if they threw one against the wall.
Of course Brook is a harder fight. He wouldn’t be knocked out cold if the breeze changed on his way to the ring…
Khan’s speed and accuracy certainly would have given Floyd problems in the first couple rounds. However Floyd quickly figures him out, starts to time him, and pepper him with solid shots and prob stops him late on. Brook is by far a much better and slicker technical fighter than Khan with better ring IQ. He holds his own in a very technical fight where no one gets hurt but he loses a comfortable UD.
