I might've seen this before, like others also perhaps, but it's been a while. Nice vision of Mike's 1st official post prison workout 1995. Mike looks very fit and sharp. He's hitting the heavy bag super fast, the old multi punch combos with plenty of heat on his shots. He appears relatively light in terms of weight. I wonder what his weight was immediately upon release. Anyone know? This content is protected
The exact date of the workout was 16 August 1995. I checked and it appears Mike was released on parole on 26 March 1995 after serving 3 years of a 6 year sentence. So the workout was the best part of 5 months after his release.
I’ve said it before but Tyson needed to follow the Foreman comeback plan. Stay active, get sharp, fight easy opponents. I know for Tyson that wasn’t an option but it might’ve helped him become a fighter again. I never thought his heart was in it after he came back.
I'll have to go through my boxing books. But I recall Mike describing his first day of release going back home after prison. Don King picked him up in a Limo they went to the Mosque, he then had some type of welcome home party and then the top execs from Showtime came to discuss contracts. Mike couldn't be bothered and told them all to go away and leave him alone. Whilst they went to another room he stayed in the TV room watching Xmen cartoons eating cereal.
