    Golovkin 3.

Golovkin has just become a two time unified champ. Bivol has just schooled Canelo.

This fight is now or never.

    No Bivol/Canelo rematch.

Bivol is leagues above Canelo and needs to beat Beterbiev to establish his grandmaster status.

Plus the judges came close to robbing Bivol and they might go through with it this time if Bivol fights Canelo again

    Bivol-Canelo is only interesting because:
    a) Bivol might knock Canelo out.
    b) Judges might just rob Bivol blind.

Bar that, it's an unexciting possibility. Golovkin fight on the other hand gives me the tragic, almost eerie vibes of Thrilla in Manila.

While I am in the few who believe that Canelx would beat Bivol at SMW, I would much rather see him fight GGG. While it's almost a guaranteed Clenelo beats him, and maybe even knocks him out this third time around, it will be a war. And honestly, if GGG is retiring soon, I believe he should end it on a high note. When it comes to exciting fights, it generally doesn't matter who won; if the boxers gave it their all, like in Ward Gatti 1, both fighters will receive high praise and support from fans. I think that this, or a Charlo fight would really be the only way to cement his legacy to both fanatics, and casual boxing fans, win or lose.

Bivol and Canelo both have a good decade left in both in them, so I don't think there's any hurry to make this fight happen soon. Besides, he should be focusing on getting that AB fight.

    Neither.

But if I absolutely had to choose one it would be the Bivol rematch.

Not keen on either one though.

I want to see Golovkin's last roll of the dice.I think he's got a plan and that this plan involves going to hell and beating Canelo to a pulp in a burning crater. Not gonna lie, that's what I watch this sport for.

A GGG without going through a big weight cut at age 40 will probably do very well. He has looked pretty gaunt at weigh-ins these past few years.

I wonder if they're testing for PEDs.....

GGG on PEDS without a weight cut might be fun to watch

Bivol ruined my plans to watch Canelo get smacked around. I really wanted Beterbiev to do it.

I knew Bivol would be tough for Canelo which is why I was frankly surprised that he took the Bivol fight. A little bit of delusion creeping in? He'd have to be on harder drugs than clenbuterol to accept a fight with Beterbiev.

.... well, you never know :D

I guess if there will be a GGG 3 it should be ASAP.

It will be annoying to discuss for years though. In the short term people will make too much of GGG's age, when in reality he just scored one of his best wins and the best win at 160 this year. This isn't some barely sanctionable matchup like Gatti Ward 3 or Vazquez Marquez 4.

In the long run I think the age difference will be underappreciated because GGG's career is light at the front end when no one would fight him and heavy on the tail. Canelo's career is almost the reverse, since I doubt Caleb Plant will ever reach the star power that old Cotto still has.

What I don't want is for Bivol to wait around for a May 2023 rematch (at whateverweight) and have the LHW undisputed fight pushed to 2023 or even 2024 because of scheduling and mandatories.

Make that fight next! Zurdo or whoever might be a worthy mandatory but he hasn't done anything worth delaying one of best fights available at any weight.
