He looked very promising at "one time" especially in 2016 and 2017 when he defeated Garcia and Porter but then came the injuries and inactivity and by the time he returned he was clearly past his best. Was Thurman ever an elite welterweight and how would he have fared against the top guys of today?
When he was hungry, he was one of the greatest offensive welterweights in boxing history. He would have destroyed spence back in those days. This content is protected
Welterweight history is just too deep to have Keith Thurman as one of the greatest offensive fighters in its storied history.
He was in the "meh" catagory of boxers. Or IS still in that catagory, which is what happens when you smoke too much weed.
Nah too many winging shots. I can think of at least a dozen welterweights with a better offensive skillset just in the past 10-20 years.
It's just funny, this guy is the 25th best Welterweight of all time, he's average. He's probably in the 0.01% of the best boxers ever
He was great, Even during those matches with Shawn he had to postpone that fight due to injuries & after the fight said he was injured while fighting him even then, aswell as the Garcia fight where he had another set of injuries this time to his elbow, not to mention he was just as inactive during both those matches and had no tune up while going into them unlike when he faced Manny.
You want me to praise him for being the 25th best of all time? In that case, Jeff Horn is better than him as he has a win over Pacquiao. Thurman aint ****
Tarkin rubbish. He didn't want anything to do with Spence. Would have got whipped round the body and folded. Soft body nobody ever exploited properly. & has fades late likes to take rounds off whilst Spence is a machine who enjoys the heat. Even Crawford needs breather rounds, Spence was born in the deep end, he doesn't need to breathe. WAR SPENCE.
