It amazes me that some people think Lenny McLean and other ' hard men' would ever stand a chance against someone like Tyson. McLean was just a big bully and would have been sparked out by Tyson in 10-20 seconds. As for all this Queensbury rules crap.... makes no difference whatsoever. There are levels in boxing. And self proclaimed hard men like big bad Lenny aren't even on the bottom rung of the ladder
Lemny sparked alot of 10 stone pee heads out in car parks after closing time that got a bit lippy and counted them as fight wins. Cliff Field ko'd him twice along with George Pappy Langley under rules. There's a couple of others whose names escape me at half past midnight.
"I've never lost a fight" I must I say I found his autobiography an entertaining read. As for the OP haha you can't be serious? A more interesting question would be McLean or Bronson?
Bronson must be the stupidest ****er in Britain. He's spent most of his life in prison- more than most murderers. He just seems to get off on the notoriety
Throw them both to Paul Sykes in the same afternoon. Bronson never faced up to anybody in prison other than taking librarians and screws hostage. There was a story went around around and I do know it's prison legend talk but allegedly Sykes got fed up of listening to Bronson bullying a fellow prisoner during rec time and distracting Sykes from a TV show he enjoyed. The story goes Sykes told Bronson to sit down not move and if he spoke another word he'd smash his head in. The story goes Bronson knew Sykes was a man not to be challenged and did as he was told. Sykes faced Roy Shaw twice I think it was in Hull prison. Sykes demolished Shaw in quick time in both fights. Sykes wasn't a nice bloke and definately not a full shilling the whole prison system knew Sykes coming to your nick meant problems were coming.
This content is protected This should be showed to every "Block" tough guy. The difference between a real, honest pro and a "Hard man" is as vast as the cosmos.
Without doubt, Benn would walk through any local tough guy, cobbles or not!! There was a story years back of Calzaghe outside a nightclub arguing with his missus and a bouncer Stepped in, Joe cleaned out three of them.
I remember this thread and how much it made me laugh at the time, probably the stupidest thing I have read on here. Prime Tyson??? A good British level super welter like Fowler, Cheeseman, Williamson, Metcalf would destroy a bully and thug like Mclean within one round. I can guarantee you that Lenny would never in his life have been hit that hard before. You can't compare punching power, stamina and punch resistance of a top professional boxer with many years of experience, countless 12 week training camps, amateur boxing and all the other benefits and advantages they hold with a bloke who has a fight in a pub car park every now and again. They'd break his ribs, most likely break his nose and jaw and knock him out without ever getting out of first gear. Goes without saying but...he would also not land a glove on any of them.
