I agree,I think both made their names on their signature boxers. Not much outside that.

Plenty of such trainers though:Roger Mayweather,Norman Stone,Alton Merkerson etc

This doesn't matter for the time being. Until they have better wins Ward has the better resume.
Then why didn't he fight Ward at 168. He requested catchweight instead lol

Not sure about this. I don't that if we had a lot of boxing experts create their ideal fighter in a lab we'd get a lot of Canelos.

Part of the differentiator is early-ish intro to boxing (older brothers help) but a lot of it is what he's done after the Mayweather fight. He's had a target on his back since shortly after and tape of how he can be squarely beaten. Every time he fights it's the pinaccle of someone else's career, one of the most important nights of their lives.

If he was just trotting out the same **** in OK condition he'd be a gatekeeper. Instead he shows new wrinkles, plays on the expectation that he will play on your expectations, enhances his natural gifts by means that may be unnatural, I assume the trainer has some role in a lot of that.

He don't need the power his size would be what causes the problem for canelo and his smothering style

That's an interesting theory, a lot had been invested in him so hiring some extra training staff when he shows a weakness is a drop in the bucket.

My view on it was that he learned this (maybe Reynosos too) by fighting Mayweather, Lara, a couple others who can box then fighting GGG who had some of the answers.

His best showings came against some beltholders who were past prime or light on high level level experience, a lot of the old Canelo came out against Bivol.

Thought this thread would have been made earlier or maybe i had missed it,

No surprise with Hunter being hopeless, even in his given interviews he seems to imply he knows more than he really does & what he really is & not just on his fighters upcoming matches but any other question regarding other boxers,

I always Remember Andre Ward just ignoring him throughout the media days & especially when he's giving Ward instructions in the Corner between rounds, almost as if Ward himself never completely respected him, odd.
