Whats the proof for Mikey selling it? Hes never fought on PPV since, his fights have flopped and Spence fought Shawn Porter and only did 10k less ppv. his last fight did 5 million gate
Spence is a moderate star. He does good tickets in his hometown. But most people have no idea who the hell he is.
Pretty excellent career all things considering. Did pretty much all that he could do to earn a HOF career, even tried for legendary status when he fought Spence but came up short. Never won a vacant belt and legit 4 weight world champion, wins over Salido, JuanMa Lopez, Martinez, Broner, Easter Jr, Lipinets and Vargas among others. I think his career took a downfall when Buddy McGirt called both Mikey Garcia and Lipinets "ugly mother ****ers". I don't think Lipinets seemed to mind the comment since that was his trainer and the language barrier, but you could tell that really bothered Garcia, being called butt ugly by a grown ass man, it shattered his confidence and he was never the same after.
why do u care u sad twat? .. revelling in the bank account or attendance figures of some guy you don't even know LOL.. Get laid cupcake
I'm surprised. ...that he bothered to announce it. That took way more effort than I've seen Mikey give in years.
I actually think he overachieved. He was able to cherry-pick his way through divisions and create hype around himself, some fans would swear black and blue that he could actually beat all the guys he called out and never fought. He was very textbook/basic and extremely unathletic, in another time he would have simply been another journeyman. The guy finished with titles in multiple divisions and he doesn’t even have a single win of note to be remembered by. His level was shown in the Spence fight. This guy bluffed his way to that fight, I respect that at least.
He was good at 135 and below, Spence was way bigger than him and that size played a massive role, Mikey looked like **** against Jessie Vargas and Martin just bc it was above 140.
I can’t really remember much about him at 135 and below. There was the Salido fight but my takeaway from that was Salido starting to beat him up before the broken nose. Then there was the guy who was stunned on his feet, so Garcia was able to get a clean shot after that for a solid looking highlight knockout. His power was ridiculously overrated by some, and he didn’t fight anybody below 135 did he? If his best win was Salido then that says it all, especially the manner of the win. Didn’t fricken Roman Martinez drop him as well?
