    What do they have to do with a comparison between Whitaker & Crawford? I'm confused.

    Each one of those guys are better than Crawford. Pernell was way past his best by the time he fought Trinidad, post-prime for Oscar (many think he edged this) and got ripped off in the Chavez fight. Do you really think the Chavez fight was a draw?

    What's the difference between controlling distance & range? Now I'm confused again.

    David Reid? Cut dude some slack. He fought a prime Tito with only 14 pro fights under his belt. That fight ruined him. If he never fought Tito, nobody would have said squat. It was way to early for that match up. I was so pissed at his management. Those dudes should have been hung by their big toes and bull whipped for that.

    Sweet Pea by a distance, probably the most talented and skilled boxer I ever saw. Imagine if he was on Floyd's PED routine instead of his own, home-devised, blow program.

    Yes... Oscar struggled against pretty much so every "slick" fighter. Tito was a one dimensional, come forward, fighter who benefitted from having a size advantage over most of his opponents (is it really a shock that he lock to Winky, Hopkins, and De Lehoya). Chavez is one of the most overrated fighters in history. name one ATG that he defeated outside of Meldrick Taylor (who would be just another Andre Berto in this era). Pernell was a special talent but there is not one fighter that he has fought that is as skilled as Crawford, let alone Spence, Loma, and Ennis.

    No offense, but even when you look at his prime, I think Floyd and Manny both accomplished more and defeated much better competition. When it comes to modern WWs, just like any sport, boxers have got better. That's just basic evolution. There's not that much separating Loma and Shakur from Pernell (prime). Hell, I would actually favor Loma to beat Pernell due to better fundamentals and ability to fight from all ranges.

    Similar styles. There's not a huge disparity in "skill" when you compare Pernell to Rigom Shakur, Ennis, and Crawford.

    Although you could argue that he beat Chavez, it was still a draw. Chavez is one of the most overrated fighters in history. Who did he beat out of Medrick Taylor (another Andre Berto.) Tito was a one-dimensional fighter who benefitted from bigger than most of his opponents. Oscar is the best of the bunch but struggled against slick black fighters. If Ike edged Oscar, what do you think Crawford would've done to him.

    So in an ATG P4P sense, are you suggesting you would rank Crawford ahead of Oscar, Tito, and JCC? And Sweet Pea?

    Pea's showings against Hurtado and Tito being excellent examples of his toughness / heart.

    Round 7 of Tito-Pete is legendary. A little something I wrote on it a while back;

    No, what I'm saying is that he would've beaten all those guys due to the fact they never fought a fighter as "skilled" as Crawford.
