Is Jeffrey Lacy damaged goods after Calzaghe?

Calzaghe ruined him mentally as well as physically. Even accounting for Lacy Amnesia few fighters survive aa sustained 12 round beating like that and fight on unaffected.

Lacy is the same fighter.....if you watched him Fight OMAR SHEIKA before Calzaghe u idiots would realise this.

What isnt the same is "his reputation".

No fighter who steps in the ring with him will respect him or fall scared of him before the bell rings.

As people have said, he needs several confidence builders against lower quality opposition if he is ever going to make waves again.

 

He got badly beaten and that can shake a fighters confidence(which is very important ) A lot of fighters that lose Badly can often have another loss back to back...Strong Mind is important...Lacy lost that extra something and needs it but he was never a finished product mabey a New trainer will help

I love Jeff Lacy, he is one of the nicest guys in boxing... and whats going on here is making me feel very sad

I hope that he makes the right decision for himself, whatever it might be. If his body is failing him then I understand retirement, but if its just the confidence issue then he need to realize how much he has accomplished already... he has only 1 loss in 5 world title fights, lotsa KOs, dude is a great fighter....just keep on trucking through it thats all i say

I am sure that fight didn't help him. However, I think that the shoulder injury (full thickness tear) and his surgery is what hurt him the most. Lacy looked GREAT in his comeback fight after Calzaghe until he tore his shoulder in the second round. After that... he hasn't seemed to recover.
